Innovative Technology in Education: Leave a Nest Philippines and IDDK Co., Ltd Empowers Teachers with Cutting-Edge Tools

Leave a Nest Philippines, Inc., in collaboration with IDDK Co., Ltd. and partnered with Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA), conducted a Seminar Workshop for Filipino teachers on August 13, 2024, at QBO Innovation in Makati. The event introduced cutting-edge Micro Imaging Device (MID) technology, a pioneering development by IDDK Co., Ltd., to educators from various academic institutions. The workshop aimed to foster the integration of advanced technologies into educational practices, with a focus on space science and technology.

The workshop, which was aligned during the Philippine Space Week 2024, designed to ignite interest in emerging technologies among educators, enabling them to inspire and educate their students on the advancements in space science and technology.

The seminar, hosted by Ms. Jewel Santos as the emcee, began with a warm welcome from Dr. Yevgeny Aster T. Dulla, the Managing Director of Leave a Nest Philippines. Dr. Dulla shared insights into the origins of Leave a Nest as a knowledge manufacturing company. Following this, Mr. Dave Del Rosario, Head of Operations, HR & Admin at QBO Innovation, elaborated on QBO's pivotal role in advancing education in the Philippines. He emphasized how QBO fosters an environment that encourages the integration of innovation and technology into the learning process. Mr. Kohei Yoshioka, Co-CEO & CFO of IDDK Co., Ltd. (Japan), then introduced his company and its initiatives. He delivered an in-depth lecture on the Micro Imaging Device (MID) technology, discussing its origins, the motivations behind its development, its noble applications, and proper usage.

MID Technology by IDDK Co., Ltd. is a specialized imaging system designed for high-resolution visualization of small or intricate structures. It features a compact and portable design, making it versatile for use in various environments, including remote or on-site locations. The technology includes advanced imaging capabilities such as digital microscopy, high magnification, and enhanced optics. It also boasts a user-friendly interface, simplifying the process of setting up, capturing images, and analyzing data.

The event attracted participants from several esteemed institutions, including iAcademy, FEU Diliman, University of the Philippines – Diliman, Interface Computer College, Inc., Lourdes School of Mandaluyong, and Jose P. Laurel High School. The seminar featured engaging sessions led by Mr. Yoshioka, who conducted a Q&A portion and provided a hands-on demonstration of the Micro Imaging Device (MID) technology. This allowed educators to explore the practical applications of the MID in real-time. Participants had the opportunity to experiment with the MID, a compact and portable alternative to traditional microscopes that offers high-resolution imaging and can be integrated into various devices, such as smartphones. The technology's potential to enhance classroom learning and support research projects was a key highlight of the workshop.

The attendees were overwhelmingly positive,Teachers praised the clarity, relevance, and engagement of the sessions, particularly the hands-on experience with the MID. The workshop's structure and the opportunity for collaborative ideation on using the MID in classroom settings were also highly appreciated. The event underscored the importance of incorporating modern technology into education to address current and future challenges in the Philippines.

Participants are given an opportunity to explore and present their ideas on how the Micro Imaging Device (MID) can be utilized in classroom settings.


This upcoming series of preparatory workshops will equip participants with essential knowledge and skills for conducting space-related bioexperiments, culminating in the selection of teams to carry out experiments in outer space. IDDK is set to launch the IDDK Micro Bio Space LAB Challenge 2025.
