Bio-Lab Cities Session: Innovation Spaces of Tomorrow

Leave a Nest Singapore is pleased to announce a panel discussion on “Bio-Lab Cities” at the upcoming Global Knowledge Hub Forum (GKHF) on 20 August 2025.
A Bio-Lab City is a concept exemplified by Japan Railway East (JRE) with their Takanawa Gateway City and its LiSH Lab, where a laboratory focusing on biological sciences forms the beating heart of a city planned around it. The birth of innovation within the laboratory influences the entire city, guiding the city’s evolution, while business in the city supports and facilitates research in the laboratory.
With such cities being created in several locations globally, even here in Singapore, we want to explore their potential to create new research and innovation. Specifically, we want to explore the process of creating cities with laboratories at their core, as well as how to facilitate collaboration between such cities.
The panel at GKHF will feature developers from Singapore and Japan who have created such Bio-Lab Cities, as well as government officials who will provide their views from an administrative / country-level perspective. The line-up of panelists will be confirmed at a later date.
We welcome all players in innovation, urban planning, and research to join this panel session and learn more about the innovation spaces of tomorrow. Please click the link below to register your attendance at GKHF!
