Leave a Nest Malaysia Empowers 321 Research Teams from 10 Countries at Science Castle Asia 2025 in Cyberjaya

Cyberjaya — Following the success of last year’s Science Castle in Asia, Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. once again proudly organised Science Castle Asia 2025, held at Multimedia University (MMU), Cyberjaya. This year’s event brought together 321 research teams from 10 countries, uniting the next generation of young scientists and innovators from across Asia. The conference served as a vibrant platform for secondary school students to present their scientific research and share innovative solutions to real-world challenges through poster, oral, and splash presentations.
Building upon the achievements of Science Castle Malaysia 2024 in Sarawak, the 2025 edition marked a significant milestone as the event expanded to the Asia level, connecting young researchers from Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, India, Russia, and Myanmar. A total of 12 teams were selected for the main Oral Presentation category, representing some of the most outstanding student-led research from across Asia.
A key highlight of this year’s event was the Science Castle Grant by Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad, a five-month mentorship journey that guided selected Malaysian student teams from ideation to research execution. Fifteen teams who completed this journey presented their findings during the final Science Castle Grant Oral Presentations at Science Castle Asia 2025. Their research focused on nutrition, food sustainability, and community wellbeing, reflecting Ajinomoto’s strong and ongoing commitment to empowering youth in STEM education. This collaboration builds on Ajinomoto’s impactful involvement in Science Castle Malaysia in Sarawak, now extended to the Asia level as the main partner, championing innovation and sustainable development among young scientists across the region.
Science Castle Asia 2025 was organised by Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. co-organize with Multimedia University (MMU) and supported by a diverse network of corporate, academic, supporting and ecosystem partners. The event featured engaging exhibitions, interactive science workshops, and mentorship sessions led by experts from both academia and industry, providing participants with valuable exposure to real-world research and technological advancement.
The event concluded with an award ceremony recognising outstanding research projects across all categories, including the Science Castle Grant Awards presented by Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad. Winning teams will advance to Science Castle World 2025 in Tokyo, Japan, to present their projects on a global stage, continuing their journey of cross-border scientific collaboration and discovery.
With its mission to bridge knowledge and foster innovation across Asia, Leave a Nest Malaysia continues to strengthen its role as a catalyst for youth-led science communication and collaboration, empowering students to become changemakers in building a sustainable future through science and technology.
