Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference Indonesia 2026 Bridges Laboratory Research and National Implementation for Sustainable Futures

BANDUNG, INDONESIA – February 2026 – Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., in strategic partnership with Telkom University, successfully hosted the Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference (HIC) Indonesia 2026 on February 7, 2026, at Gedung Damar, Telkom University in Bandung. Under the theme “Converging Knowledge, Creating Sustainable Futures,” the specialized platform brought together a “Pentahelix” of 144 diverse stakeholders—including academics, industry leaders, government agencies, and community innovators—to transform foundational laboratory research into practical, national-scale solutions.

The conference highlighted a strong academic core, with 54.2% of participants representing 13 local educational institutions , alongside significant attendance from local businesses, international startups, and NGOs.

Pioneering Clean Tech & EV Infrastructure

The program opened with high-level technical sessions spotlighting the future of sustainable energy infrastructure:

  • Keynote Address: Dr. Muhammad Alief Irham from Batari Energy explored the journey of energy storage technology. He highlighted the company’s flagship smart LFP storage systems and its contribution to the Indonesia Energy Roadmap (2025–2034), which targets 42.6 GW of additional power capacity.

  • Special Presentation: Mr. Yuta Akakuma, Managing Director of NatureNix, showcased their proprietary 3minGo! technology. Powered by Toshiba SCIB™ cells, the ultra-long-life system delivers a 20–80% charge in just three minutes, offering a direct-charging alternative to traditional battery-swapping for ASEAN gig workers.

Multidisciplinary Panels Tackle Regional Challenges

Three expert-led panel sessions addressed critical socio-economic and environmental issues across the region:

  1. Biotech Beyond Boundaries: Founders from Innoqua Asia, BIKI, and PT. Algatek Karbon Nusantara discussed the circular economy. They shared breakthroughs in waste valorization, including chitosan-based protective coatings for crops and symbiotic microalgae aquaculture filtering systems designed to prevent marine contamination.

  2. Data to Decision: Representatives from Tenchijin Inc., Telkom University, and Bandung's Regional Development, Research, and Innovation Agency (Bapperida) discussed predictive analytics. The panel highlighted utilizing urban data and satellite imagery to address Bandung's waste management and optimize aging water infrastructure.

  3. Addressing the Diabetes Challenge: Experts from Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD), Japanese health-tech startup Second Heart Co., Ltd., and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) explored cross-industry healthcare strategies. The discussion focused on integrating advanced digital monitoring tools with biotechnology-driven nutrition solutions, such as sustainable sugar alternatives.

Celebrating Multidisciplinary Impact

The conference's competitive Poster Session featured 38 registered research presentations. Four distinguished judges recognized three outstanding young scientists for their real-world scalability and multidisciplinary approach to sustainability:

  • Muhammad Syifa Irfani (Institut Teknologi Bandung) – Dengue Forecast Based on Time-Dependent Infection Rate Dynamic in Palu City.

  • Ni Made Diah (Universitas Gadjah Mada) – Formulation of Feed Additives Based on Pila ampullacea and Hylocereus polyrhizus for Optimizing Low-Fat Duck Meat.

  • Amaliyah Rohsari Indah Utami (Telkom University) – From Agricultural Waste to Bio-Bricks and Energy-Efficient Housing Design.

The event concluded with a shared mandate to emphasize “Pilot-to-Scale” collaborations. By combining international advanced technology with the crucial indigenous knowledge of local partners, the alliance ensures that simulated ecosystems and scientific breakthroughs translate directly into community welfare and sustainable infrastructure across Indonesia.
