Leave a Nest Co., Ltd. launched its startup discovery and development activities in earnest in 2013 and has since developed TECH PLANTER, a platform for researchers and venture companies seeking to bring science and technology into society. As one of Asia’s leading seed acceleration programs, TECH PLANTER brings together large corporations, manufacturing companies, universities and startups to build a new innovation ecosystem.

In 2018, Leave a Nest expanded its activities across ASEAN. In addition to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines, TECH PLANTER was newly launched in Vietnam and Indonesia, bringing the program to six ASEAN countries.

Toy Medical, a Finalist of the 4th AGRI TECH GRAND PRIX and Yoshinoya Award Winner, to Deliver Keynote in Vietnam

The first TECH PLANTER in VIETNAM will hold its final selection event, TECH PLAN DEMO DAY, on Saturday, June 9, 2018. The keynote speaker will be Mr. Hidenori Takeshita, Representative Director of Toy Medical Co., Ltd., whose team received the Yoshinoya Award at the 4th AGRI TECH GRAND PRIX held in Japan in 2017.

Toy Medical is a healthcare venture originating from Kumamoto Prefecture. Guided by its vision of continuing to create products that bring smiles to patients, healthcare professionals and everyone who uses them, the company develops businesses in areas including medical devices and health foods. Toy Medical was founded in 2013 and participated in the 4th AGRI TECH GRAND PRIX in September 2017, where it received the Yoshinoya Corporate Award for its salt-excretion supplement project.

Vietnam has a population comparable in scale to Japan’s while also having a notably young population, creating expectations for rapid future economic growth. Alongside its core medical materials business, Toy Medical continues to develop products from a patient-centered perspective. In the keynote, Mr. Takeshita will speak about the company’s new business development around its salt-excretion supplement and the opportunities created through TECH PLANTER, with the aim of inspiring the Vietnamese finalist teams and audience.

Mr. Takeshita established Toy Medical Co., Ltd. at the end of 2013. In July 2017, the company received the Atsumaru Holdings Award at the Kumamoto TECH PLAN GRAND PRIX, followed by the Yoshinoya Award at the AGRI TECH GRAND PRIX in September of the same year.
