Great Teacher Summit is a comprehensive seminar organized in conjunction with the Science Castle in Asia 2024 (SCA) for teachers and educators that features captivating talks by influential speakers, enlightening panel discussions that delve into critical issues in education, interactive sharing sessions where educators can learn from each other's experiences, and immersive workshops that provide hands-on learning opportunities and enhance teaching methodologies.

About GTS

The Great Teacher Summit (GTS), is a unique converging point for teachers, educators, and parents, seeking out novel and efficient methods to elevate STEM education. GTS is built meticulously as an arena for discussion and knowledge sharing. It pools in thought leaders, educators, and enthusiastic representatives from both local and international backgrounds, fostering an exchange of expertise on how best to stimulate and sustain student interest in STEM education.

Moreover, GTS offers an exciting opportunity to highlight the importance of STEM subjects by enhancing their delivery, providing an in-depth understanding, and creating a dialogue around their potential for future career paths. It champions the mission of instilling interest in STEM education pathways among the new generation, regardless of where they are in the world, fostering global collaboration for the development of our future scientists, engineers, technologists, and mathematicians.

Therefore, we hope, GTS will become a part of a collective vision aimed at shaping the future of STEM education and inspiring the next generation of change-makers.

Objectives

The GTS 2024 program is meticulously crafted to achieve the following objectives:

  • To foster excellence in teaching methods including the promotion and use of technology and multidisciplinary strategies to make lessons more compelling and enriching.
  • To facilitate peer-to-peer learning and networking by providing a platform for educators to connect, share their best practices and experiences, and learn from each other.
  • To enhance professional development via the promotion of continuous self-enhancement and professional growth among teachers.

“Enriching Teachers Through Exceptional Teaching and Learning”

In line with the goals outlined in the Malaysian Education Blueprint (2013-2025), it is imperative to cultivate world-class capabilities among teachers, as they play a fundamental role in delivering effective teaching and learning experiences.

Consequently, it becomes essential to nurture well-rounded students possessing a spectrum of skills and attributes, such as knowledge acquisition, critical thinking abilities, leadership prowess, bilingual proficiency, ethical grounding, spiritual development, and a robust sense of national identity.

Understanding current needs in Teaching and Learning

Relevance: Education is constantly evolving, and understanding the current needs in teaching and learning is crucial for educators to stay updated and effective.

Broad Appeal: Covers wide range of participants, from primary to higher education, ensuring diverse perspectives and experiences.

Aspiring Educators Symposium

In a conjunction with Great Teacher Summit, a 2-days symposium for aspiring STEM educators including undergraduates, postgraduates, researchers, and postdocs will be held. 

Aims

  • To connect participants with global peers and mentors while exploring the latest strategies for instructional approaches, fostering future STEM talent, and shaping the future of STEM education worldwide.
  • To provide a platform for participants to share and present their research to industrial partners, educators, and future educators.
  • To enhance research visibility and engagement with industrial partners and experts through proceedings and journal publication, including the opportunity for selected posters to be published in the International STEM Journal (E-ISSN 2785-857X) and receive awards from partners.
