Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is proud to announce the judges for oral presentation at SCIENCE CASTLE in MALAYSIA 2019.
The 5 judges came from various backgrounds such as life sciences, architecture, environmental microbiology, robotics, and engineering.

Head of Judge
Dr. Shuichiro Takahashi
Representative Director COO, Leave a Nest Co., Ltd.
Leave a Nest Co., Ltd is a leading science communication company in Japan, working on extensive projects relating to Science and Technology. Dr. Shuichiro Takahashi received Ph.D. in Life Science at the University of Tokyo and has been committing to the expansion of Leave a Nest since its establishment. He is known for being a pioneer in incubation of young researchers with collaboration with private sectors. In order to accelerate the innovation in R&D, he has been creating many open innovation platforms with industry, academia and schools.
Mr. Ramesh Pillai
Honorary Secretary, Malaysian Association of Creativity & Innovation (MACRI)
Mr. Ramesh Pillai is a founding member (MACRI), established in April 2007. He is trained in Architectural Studies and has a Diploma from the Federal Institute of Technology. He has also been trained in Intellectual Property Rights at the Japan Institute of Patent Attorneys (JIPA). He is now very much engaged in promoting STEM education through the initiatives of the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC). Mr. Ramesh is a STEM Change Agent appointed by the Education Performance & Delivery Unit (PADU), under the auspices of the Ministry of Education. He is now mandated to play a more active role in enhancing STEM education initiatives and engaging with more stakeholders in spreading awareness on STEM.
Associate Professor Dr. Hirofumi Hara
Malaysian-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)
Associate Professor Dr. Hirofumi Hara obtained his Bachelor of Bioengineering (1998) followed by, Master of Engineering (Bioengineering) (2000) from Nagaoka University of Technology. He completed his PhD (Information Science and Control Engineering) in the year 2003 from the same university. His research interests include Environmental Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, and Solid Waste Management and Conversion. He has produced numerous publications including book chapters, indexed and non indexed journals, proceedings, and selected as reviewers for few prestige journals. He is an active member of few professional bodies. Recently, he has received an award in Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry Excellent paper in 2017 and Excellent Service Award at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia for 2017 and 2018.
Dr. Zool Hilmi Bin Ismail
Senior Lecturer and Professional Engineer, Robotics Research Group, Centre of Artificial Intelligent and Robotics (CAIRO), Malaysian-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)
Dr. Zool Hilmi Ismail is currently a Senior Lecturer at UTM. He received the B. Eng. and the M. Eng. degree from UTM and the Dr. Eng. in Electrical Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom in 2004, 2006, and 2011 respectively. He is a member of The Institution of Engineers Malaysia, Board of Engineers Malaysia, IEEE, IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society and IEEE Control Systems Society, Asian Control Association, and the Society for Underwater Technology. He has a number of awards from International RoboCup Competitions. Since 2017, he is a member of the committee of International RoboCup@Home Education. His research interest is perceptual robots, adaptive robust control, unmanned vehicle and redundant robots.
Mr. Muhammad Basril Bin Muhammad Asri
STEAM Educator and Instructor, My Conceptual Robotics Sdn. Bhd. (MyCRO)
Mr. Muhammad Basril is a graduate from University of Malaya (UM) and currently pursuing his Master of Engineering Science (M Eng.) specializing in manufacturing processes. He often gives talk at schools and universities on STEAM education topic. He is also responsible in the assembly process of RP Maker 3D printer, which is a product of MyCRO. His expertise is in 3D modelling & 3D printing.
