TECH PLAN DEMO DAY in Indonesia 2025 concluded with great success, uniting some of the brightest minds in technology and innovation from across the country. Held on 26 July 2025 at Bandung Techno Park, Bandung, Indonesia, the event highlighted groundbreaking ideas and served as a dynamic platform for collaboration among startups, industry leaders, and investors.

The event highlighted the talent and creativity of nine outstanding finalists, carefully chosen from a group of 42 highly qualified applicants. Surplus Indonesia, Green Living Lab, PT Fumalife Sinergi Inovasi, PT. Kurva Lonceng Khatulistiwa, HNK Smart, Nayaka, BIKI, IJO and PT. Nanoyours Asa Peduli impressed the audience with their noteworthy ideas and original designs. They demonstrated the potential to make significant advancements in their respective fields. 

Finalists presented their cutting-edge solutions to a panel of esteemed global and local judges. The panel comprised esteemed representatives from Leave a Nest Malaysia, Bandung Techno Park (BTP), invst.id, Indonesia Food Industry (IFI), PT Xolare RCR Energy Tbk, Ecoxyztem Venture Builder, Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT), UntroD Capital Asia Pte. Ltd. and Sabah Creative Economy And Innovation Centre (SCENIC).

In addition to the nine finalists, the event also featured six lightning talk presentations from Kripik Mangga Gincu, Curaweda, ChitoGlow, Kilatsoon, Energi Terbarukan and Tiriz.co.  These lightning talk teams were selected based on the voting by the partners of TECH PLANTER in Indonesia 2025, igniting the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Indonesia tech ecosystem. Furthermore, the event featured informative partner presentations from UntroD Capital Asia and SCENIC. These presentations provided valuable insights and added to the overall dynamism of the event.

The event also featured an exhibition of 11 booths, showcasing a diverse range of participants. These included partners such as BTP and invest.id, local startups like Curaweda, Lunar Interactive, Rizqi Aulia Holdings Co., BIKI, and Surplus Indonesia. From the academic sector, teams from Universitas Sangga Buana presented innovations such as Kripik Mangga Gincu and Energi Terbarukan, while teams from Institut Teknologi Petroleum Balongan showcased HNK Smart and ChitoGlow.

Among the finalists, BIKI emerged as the Grand Winner, impressing the judges with its comprehensive solution to tackle fruit and vegetable loss—Indonesia’s leading source of food waste. Based in Yogyakarta, BIKI developed Chitasil Edible Coating, an innovation made from shrimp shell waste that extends the shelf life of produce and minimizes post-harvest losses. Through its BIKI Point ecosystem, the team empowers smallholder farmers by providing traceability tools and improved market access, while championing sustainability and food security. In addition to the Grand Prize, BIKI also received the UntroD Capital Asia Award, which recognized the startup's strong business potential, collaborative spirit, and alignment with local needs.

Award Inclusions: 10,000,000 IDR Monetary Prize and an Invitation to present at the TECH PLANTER Asia Final 2025.
Reason for Winning: BIKI has shown an exceptional balance between innovation and business viability. As a startup led by young entrepreneurs, BIKI serves as a model for collaborative approaches across multiple stakeholders. Their work contributes to ecosystem building and inclusive development, making them a standout candidate for the Grand Winner recognition.

 

LEAVE A NEST AWARD

Winner: PT. Kurva Lonceng Khatulistiwa
Technology Theme: Coffee Leather, converting coffee skin waste into sustainable leather alternatives. Our product becomes an alternative to current synthetic leather that uses plastic as its main components.
Award Inclusions: An Invitation to present at the TECH PLANTER Asia Final 2025.
Reason for Winning: Kurva Lonceng’s innovation in utilizing coffee waste to produce leather has great potential beyond the food industry — extending to the fashion and furniture sectors, both of which have high demand and social impact. This award aims to highlight Indonesia’s capacity to produce sustainable, locally sourced materials and opens the door for collaboration with partners who can help scale this innovation.

 

UNTROD CAPITAL ASIA AWARD

Winner: BIKI
Technology Theme: End-to-end prevention solution for fruit and vegetable loss and waste
Award Inclusions: 6,000,000 IDR Monetary PrizeReason for Winning: UntroD Capital Asia recognizes BIKI as a company that demonstrates strong teamwork and a commitment to utilizing local resources to address local challenges. Indonesia presents a large and diverse market, and BIKI’s solution to extend the shelf life of local products has regional and potentially global relevance. UntroD believes this innovation is critical for today’s society and is proud to support BIKI’s impactful work.

 

JAPAN TOBACCO AWARD

Winner: PT. Kurva Lonceng Khatulistiwa
Technology Theme: Coffee Leather, converting coffee skin waste into sustainable leather alternatives. Our product becomes an alternative to current synthetic leather that uses plastic as its main components.
Award Inclusions: 6,000,000 IDR Monetary Prize
Reason for Winning: JT, a tobacco manufacturing company, sees a unique historical and cultural connection between tobacco and coffee. The Indonesian coffee industry is vital to the country’s economy, and Kurva Lonceng’s farmer-centric approach reflects deep respect for local producers. Their innovation holds great potential to empower farmers and enhance Indonesia’s agricultural ecosystem.

 

BANDUNG TECHNO PARK AWARD

Winner: PT Fumalife Sinergi Inovasi
Technology Theme: Fumalife provides affordable, user-friendly electrospinning solutions to address the high cost, complexity, and limited access to nanofiber technology faced by researchers in advancing material science.
Award Inclusions: In-kind contribution – Golden ticket access to exclusive programs at Bandung Techno Park.
Reason for Winning: With extensive experience in business incubation, BTP acknowledges Fumalife for its strong commitment to supporting researchers. The innovation developed by Fumalife demonstrates practical impact and aligns well with BTP’s mission to nurture scientific and research-based startups.

 

INVST.ID AWARD

Winner: IJO
Technology Theme: Seaweed-Based Innovation to Revolutionize Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture.
Award Inclusions: In-kind contribution – In-kind support from Bestlaptop.id comprising Refurbished laptop (AAA-grade quality) and a 1-on-1 session on the road to commercialization and investment with invst.id circles.
Reason for Winning: IJO presents a compelling innovation by transforming locally sourced seaweed into value-added products that benefit farmers. The idea is not only innovative but also proven in its impact. Invest.id is keen to support this kind of meaningful innovation and help propel it forward.
