Great Teachers Summit (GTS) 2025 – Empowering Teachers as Changemakers for Sustainable Education

The Great Teachers Summit (GTS) is an annual international flagship platform established by Leave a Nest Malaysia, designed to empower educators and foster meaningful collaboration with key stakeholders in advancing STEM education and beyond.

Since its inception in 2018, GTS has brought together more than 500 teachers, researchers, and education professionals from across Asia, creating a dynamic convergence of ideas, best practices, and innovations that strengthen the ecosystem of education.

In 2025, the Summit embarked on a bold new chapter through its official collaboration with the Global Educator Award (GEA) and its hosting at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Perak. Held from 2 to 4 October 2025, GTS 2025 carried the theme “Teachers as Changemakers for Sustainable Education.”

Over the two-day event, participants engaged in keynote addresses, panel discussions, interactive workshops, poster presentations, and networking sessions were all designed to inspire transformative action in education.

While STEM remains a core pillar, GTS 2025 broadened its scope to spotlight Early Childhood and Childcare Education as well as Planetary Health Education, reinforcing the belief that the foundation of learning and the health of our planet must progress hand in hand.

The Summit also welcomed in-service teachers, researchers, and academics to showcase their ideas and findings through poster presentations under key themes including Education for Sustainable Development, Transformative Education, and Character Development. Selected works will be considered for publication in recognized academic journals.

More than just a gathering, GTS 2025 stands as a symbol of collaboration and collective action. It is a space where new ideas are born, partnerships are strengthened, and the “handshake mechanism” becomes real , transforming shared vision into tangible impact.

Leave a Nest Malaysia extends its heartfelt appreciation to all participants, partners, and collaborators, particularly Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia, Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Perak, Faculty of Science and Mathematics Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Akademi Interaktif, Pelangi Publishing Group, GlobalNxt University,Taylors University, Universiti Sains Malaysia,Persatuan Guru STEM Malaysia, Salman  ITB , Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (CIBIRU Campus) and the GEA team, for their support, commitment, and trust in making GTS 2025 a remarkable milestone.
