Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference Vietnam 2026 Successfully Concludes at Hoa Sen University

Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. successfully hosted the Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference Vietnam 2026 (HICVN 2026) on 24 January 2026 at Hoa Sen University (Main Campus, District 1). The one day conference brought together stakeholders from academia, industry, startups, and innovation ecosystems to explore interdisciplinary collaboration toward a more sustainable future.

HICVN 2026 was co-organised with Alternō, with Hoa Sen University serving as the Strategic Partner. The conference was further strengthened through collaboration with Sharing Partners Qarbotech and Seamorny, alongside Ecosystem Partners Climate Launchpad Vietnam, ASSIST, Agriculture High-Tech Park Vietnam (AHTP), InnoLab Asia, New Energy Nexus and SeaVita Soki. Academic engagement was supported by University Partners PetroVietnam University and HCMUT-TBI, reflecting a strong commitment to research–industry collaboration.

Held under the theme “Sustainable Collaboration through Connecting Minds for a Greener Future,” HICVN 2026 functioned as a knowledge-driven forum for dialogue and collaboration across key areas including water management, agri-tech, sustainability, and emerging technologies. The event welcomed approximately 133 participants, including researchers and students from Vietnam and Japan.

The conference opened with welcoming remarks by Dr. Tu Minh Thien, Vice President of Hoa Sen University, followed by opening remarks from Dr. Nursyuhada, Project Leader of HICVN 2026. The morning programme featured a keynote lecture by Dr. Vu Ngoc Anh, Founder of Shoes Agtech, and a special lecture by Dr. Yukihiro Maru, Founder and Group CEO of Leave a Nest, together with Mr. Hai Ho, CEO of Alternō. These sessions highlighted the role of research–startup collaboration in translating knowledge into societal impact.

In addition to panel discussions, the conference featured HIC Splash pitching sessions, where startups and innovators presented solutions addressing sustainability challenges. A poster presentation and networking session, comprising 31 research posters, facilitated direct interaction between researchers, entrepreneurs, investors  and ecosystem partners.

Throughout the day, sharing partners Seamorny and Qarbotech, as well as ecosystem partners New Energy Nexus, Climate Launchpad Vietnam and SeaVita also actively participated in the programme.

The conference concluded with a Best Poster Award ceremony and closing session, recognising outstanding research contributions:

  1. Efficacy of Advanced Rice Cultivation Model Applying No-Till System in Combination with Microbial Products on Growth, Yield, and Saline Soil Properties in the Mekong Delta – Can Tho University
  2. Health-Support Gloves – PetroVietnam University
  3. Cashew Nata Jelly – Bacterial Cellulose from Discarded Cashew Apple Juice – Nguyen An Ninh Secondary School
  4. Oil Adsorption Material from Coconut Waste Combined with ZIF-8 – Ton Duc Thang University

 

Through HICVN 2026, the conference highlighted the strong potential and positive impact of university-led research in Vietnam in contributing to a greener and more sustainable future. The event demonstrated significant opportunities for collaboration, with active networking and engagement between researchers and industry partners observed throughout the programme.

Leave a Nest reaffirmed its commitment to building knowledge-based ecosystems and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across Southeast Asia. Moving forward, the HIC platform will continue to serve as a catalyst for cross-border partnerships, research-driven innovation, and sustainable development initiatives.
