Manila, Philippines – As the highly anticipated Yugto 2024 approaches, Leave a Nest Philippines is thrilled to announce the University Partners who are joining hands to give opportunities for high school students to explore their degree programs.  With their support and collaboration, attendees can expand their horizons and be equipped to make more informed decisions. 

 

Adamson University

Adamson University is a private Catholic university operated by the Congregation of the Mission in Manila, Philippines. George Lucas Adamson, a Greek chemist, founded the Adamson School of Industrial Chemistry in June 1932 as a single classroom for industrial chemistry. It has since then grown into a full-pledge University, offering quality academic programs not only in science and engineering, graduate school, law, the liberal arts, nursing, pharmacy, architecture, business administration, education, and secondary, elementary, and preschool. It is one of the universities in the country that receive autonomous status from the Commission on Higher Education. Adamson University has been regularly included in the rankings of top universities in the Philippines. It was included in the top 201+ universities in Asia in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings on multiple occasions, such as in 2022, where it placed 651+ mark. Recently, Adamson University soared to the Top 5 Universities in the Philippines according to the QS Asia University Rankings 2024, climbing to the 551-600 rank. The university is a member of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines.

Integrated Protein and R&D Center 

The Integrated Protein R&D Center (IPRDC) of the Ateneo de Manila University is empowering biotechnology by addressing supply chain and logistics issues in the Philippines through developing materials and equipment. All of the Center’s outputs are slated for research, educational, and commercial use. Through this, affordable recombinant proteins can be made available for Filipino research laboratories and biotechnology companies looking to scale up. Open source equipment designs will also be made available to schools to give students hands-on exposure to biotechnology and inspire the next generation of Filipino scientists.

Mapua University

Technological Institute of the Philippines

The Technological Institute of the Philippines (T.I.P.) is one of the premier engineering schools in the country, distinguished not only for its excellence in engineering but also for its diverse undergraduate programs in architecture, computer studies, business, education, and the arts. T.I.P. also offers senior high school academic tracks and postgraduate studies in selected engineering and computing disciplines.

University of Sto. Tomas

The University of Santo Tomas, the Pontifical, Royal, and Catholic University of the Philippines, is a Dominican institution of learning founded in 1611, under the patronage of St. Thomas Aquinas.

It also has administrators and faculty members who are holding leadership positions in the Philippines’ policy-making bodies (e.g. Commission on Higher Education) and professional organizations, helping influence policies for the betterment of the society in general.

Yugto is an initiative by Leave a Nest in the Philippines, designed to assist high school students in making informed decisions about their university degree choices. It aims to provide comprehensive insights into various degree options, especially those less known or popular, to ensure a more informed decision-making for the students and to support degree programs in their sustainability. By enlightening students about the diverse career paths and educational opportunities, Yugto seeks to align students' interests and abilities with their future academic and professional pursuits, thereby enhancing the overall educational and societal landscape.
