Unleashing the Power of Curiosity: Ki Ni Naru Project Returns for an Exciting New Adventure!

4 October 2024 – Leave a Nest Philippines, Inc. is excited to announce the second onsite implementation of the Ki Ni Naru project, a program designed to nurture young minds by harnessing their natural curiosity and teaching the fundamentals of science and research. This year, thirty high school students from five participating schools will join the project, expanding from last year’s success. The schools include Jose C. Payumo Jr. Memorial High School, Learn and Explore Montessori School, Morong National High School, Hermosa National High School, and Mariveles National High School.

The excitement begins in the morning with students diving into a hands-on microbiology workshop centered on the wonders of baker’s yeast. They will uncover the invisible yet fascinating world of this microbe through microscopy, and learn about alcoholic fermentation through a thrilling Yeast Challenge. In doing so, these activities will not only spark creativity, but also hone observational, data gathering, and interpretation skills. Along the way, they may even pick up some valuable life lessons.

In the afternoon, more adventures await students as they embark on a Learning Exposure Tour at the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center, managed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ Biodiversity Management Bureau. Guided by knowledgeable experts, they will explore the vibrant local flora and fauna, raising new questions that can be further investigated through Ki Ni Naru modules and activities.

Beyond the kick-off event, Ki Ni Naru students will be immersed in a series of enriching lectures, activities, and mentorship over the coming months. They will apply the scientific method by pursuing research topics that genuinely excite them, which will culminate in small research projects to be showcased at the inaugural Science Castle in the Philippines on January 18, 2025.

Igniting their passion for science and encouraging them to wander the world with a drive for discovery, this year’s second installment of Ki Ni Naru aims to be an unforgettable experience for students. Stay tuned for more updates as their journey unfolds!
