From Curiosity to Discovery: Ki Ni Naru Project Final Presentation Approaches
From 4-month long intensive research training sessions, Ki Ni Naru (KNN) participants are set to do a final presentation of their curiosity-driven research project. Just to recap, KNN, inspired by the Japanese phrase meaning “to be curious,” nurtures scientific exploration by training students with no prior research experience. Emphasizing curiosity over complex tools, it empowers participants to pursue projects driven by their interests using only observation and accessible materials. In this implementation of KNN, seven teams from 5 High Schools namely, Jose C. Payumo Jr. Memorial High School, Mariveles National High Schools, Morong National High School, Hermosa National High School, and Learn and Explore Montessori School Inc., will be culminating this research training program.
This January 18, 2025, at the Ateneo de Manila University, these young scientists are going to take the spotlight to showcase how their curiosity has turned into exciting discoveries. They will be presenting their projects in front of an esteemed panel of judges which will serve as an advisory board that is focused on guiding them on how they could improve their research more.
Currently, the students are already showing their innate talent for research as they have set out on a journey to discover mysteries in different fields in science. These topics are something that these students came up with based on the things that they find interesting and genuinely curious about as the training program progress:
Team | Title |
Morong National High School | The Effect of Different Colored Light on Growth of Mung Beans |
Learn and Explore Montessori High School Team 3 | The Facebook Effect: Analyzing the Influence of Facebook Exposure on Attention Span among Grade 7 Students from Learn & Explore Montessori School Inc. |
Jose C. Payumo National High School | Design and Development of Cornpostable Bioplastic Straws in Bataan |
Learn and Explore Montessori High School Team 1 | The Impacts of Cyberbullying on the Stress Levels of Junior High School Students of Learn and Explore Montessori School |
Hermosa National High School | AGRAZE : Accelerated Green Ripening and Agricultural Zeal Equipment |
Learn and Explore Montessori High School Team 2 | From Crab Buckets to Gift Tables: Comparing Competitive Behavior in White Elephant Exchange Game Between High School and Elementary Students in Learn and Explore Montessori School |
Mariveles National High School | Application of Manila Clam (Ruditapes philippinarum) Shell Powder for Greywater Treatment |
Ki Ni Naru Final Presentation will be conducted in Science Castle Philippines 2025, a multidisciplinary research event where Filipino high school students have the opportunity to present groundbreaking research and develop their scientific expertise. Looking forward to a day of innovation, collaboration, and inspiring discoveries, we aim to celebrate the curiosity and creativity that drive scientific progress among the next generation of researchers!
