Create New Technology Ideas on the Day as we Bring Ignition Session to our Regional Conference – the HIC 2025 Iloilo Forum
Living out the Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference (HIC) 2025 Iloilo Forum’s theme “Knowledge Manufacturing the Intersection of Research Horizons in Visayas”, we implement the “Ignition Session” at the forum. In this session, the conference participants from different institutions form a team and actively communicate with each other to share their ideas and expertise in different fields. Together, they develop collaborative ideas in solving different problems under the specific theme. These ideas become the spark and ignite further knowledge creation and collaboration, taking more steps toward advancing science and technology for global happiness.

Last November 9, 2024, we conducted the very first Ignition Session in the Philippines at the Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference in the Philippines 2024. Last year, two themes were presented: (1) “Solutions for Issues in the Philippines and the SEA Region” from Focus Systems Corporation, and (2) “Empowering Remote Communities Through Water Education with Science and Technology” from Leave a Nest. Together with Focus Systems and Leave a Nest Philippines, the team who won the Focus System Award with the proposal entitled, ”Elderly Monitoring using BLE Technology” further their research and development through co-incubation at Mapua University and Adamson University.
We want to continue this initiative of gathering individuals from different sectors to co-create solutions for pressing issues. Partnering with us in HIC 2025 Iloilo Form’s Ignition Session is Central Philippine University, represented by their technology business incubator – the CPUGAD TBI, and RenDewTech, a food and agri-aqua company in Iloilo.
HIC 2025 Iloilo Forum Ignition Session Themes:
Theme 1: “Sustainable Gastronomy: Technology for Food, Culture, and Tourism in Western Visayas”
Design innovations that connect sustainability, gastronomy, and cultural tourism to support local communities and ecosystems.

Theme 2: “Weaving New Solutions: Venturing Beyond Discipline Expertise to Solve Deep Issues Within the Visayas Region”
As a core principle of the Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference and Leave a Nest being a knowledge manufacturing company, we recognize that a single discipline alone cannot solve deeply rooted societal issues. Addressing these complex challenges necessitates interdisciplinary collaboration, requiring experts to venture beyond their conventional fields to view the issue and generate solutions on a holistic basis.
