The Next Stage: Leave a Nest Philippines transitions to New Leadership

Leave a Nest Philippines is proud to announce the appointment of Engr. Ronezza Delos Santos as the new Managing Director, and the reappointment of Dr. Yevgeny Aster Dulla as a Director of Leave a Nest Philippines effective on December 1, 2025. This leadership transition occurs as Leave a Nest Philippines approaches a significant milestone in a few months before its 5th anniversary since its establishment and considerably shifts gears to increase both nationwide and regional projects and engagements through a stronger locally-powered and globally-supported leadership.

Branching out from Japan, Leave a Nest Philippines was established in 2021 through the great passion for Dr. Dulla’s passion for his home country, and the trust of Leave a Nest Co., Ltd. in Tokyo, Japan, headed by its Group CEO Dr. Yukihiro Maru. This official expansion came after Leave a Nest Co., Ltd.’s continuous platform building with local ecosystem players in the Philippines since 2017 through deep tech research and startup focused initiatives like the TECH PLANTER program and the Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference. Up until its official establishment in 2021, Leave a Nest has always seen the Philippines as one of the strategic countries that it can expand to due to a number of reasons, including distance, culture, level of economic development, among others.

Zero to One: Leave a Nest Philippines’ First Half-Decade

Dr. Dulla took his Masters in Health Life Sciences and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Kumamoto University, under the HIGO Program of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). He learned about Leave a Nest through the talk about Science Bridge Communication and QPMI Cycle from Dr. Yukihiro Maru (Leave a Nest Group CEO) at Kumamoto University. After he acquired his PhD, he gained experience in a business consultancy company before joining Leave a Nest Japan in 2020 with the intention of establishing the Philippine office. Even in the midst of the COVID pandemic, the team was able to officially incorporate the Philippine office on March 10, 2021.

A few months after incorporation, Engr. Delos Santos, the new Managing Director, and Mr. Ronrick Arayata, also currently a Director, which was followed by Mr. Bryan Angelo Foronda, currently a Director as well, in late 2021. Starting with these 3 members, more projects started to come in, and the team has expanded to around 15 members from around 2024. Some key milestones include the conception and implementation of the Scholars’ Technopreneurship Training Program or STTP (formerly Project SET – Scholars’ Entrepreneurship Training), which is program developed for the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) to train DOST-SEI scholars for technopreneurship. With the implementation done in 5 different regions in the Philippines from 2023 to 2025, Leave a Nest Philippines has also expanded its Knowledge Manufacturing Platform to these areas, initiating new regional projects such as the Visayas TECH PLANTER, Mindanao TECH PLANTER, and Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference Iloilo Forum

Dr. Dulla’s transition from Managing Director to Director stems from him taking a new challenge in the Japan office, which is to become a science bridge communicator not just for the Philippines but for other Southeast Asian countries and even beyond. As the Leave a Nest Group envisions to expand to 60 countries, he will be one of the catalysts to do so – and with this can provide even more value to the Philippines. Because of this transition, the baton is passed to the local team of Directors, with Engr. Delos Santos at the helm.

Unleashing Local Strength through New Leadership

As one of the pioneer members of Leave a Nest Philippines, Engr. Ronezza Delos Santos has played a key role in the company’s growth and local impact. She spearheaded local initiatives such as Yugto, which provides high school students with opportunities to make more informed decisions as they prepare for college.

Engr. Delos Santos is a licensed Chemical Engineer who graduated from the University of the Philippines Diliman. Inspired by her internship experience with Leave a Nest’s TECH PLANTER in the Philippines in 2021, she took on the challenge of becoming one of the pioneer members of the company’s Philippine subsidiary. She was appointed as a Director of Leave a Nest Philippines in March 2023. Alongside her professional role, she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Environment and Natural Resources Management at the University of the Philippines Open University.

Under her leadership, Leave a Nest Philippines continues to develop meaningful local initiatives that empower Filipinos to unleash their potential in science and technology. She is also strengthening regional engagement by continuously expanding the company’s network beyond Metro Manila. Guided by her commitment to national development, Engr. Delos Santos actively fosters cross-sector and cross-regional collaborations, working closely with researchers, startups, industry partners, and local communities through Leave a Nest.

Entering into this new stage, together with existing Directors, this key transition hopes to bolster the continuous growth and strengthening of the Leave a Nest Philippines team and its local and cross-border initiatives as it complements in realizing the overall global vision of Leave a Nest Group of “Advancing Science and Technology for Global Happiness” in its truest sense.
