Undergraduate Team from NTU, SafeHaven, won the TECH PUSH Program This Year
A trial to establish the method to rapid prototype business inspired by cutting-edge technologies.
Leave a Nest Singapore successfully organized final pitch event of TECH PUSH Program in SINGAPORE 2018 on Saturday, August 11th. The program is powered by Mitsubishi Electric and supported by Platform E. This is the first time the TECH PUSH Program is held in Singapore to stimulate business ideas that can potentially solve challenges faced in the ASEAN region by bringing cutting-edge technologies developed by corporates and young talents together.

Through TECH PUSH program, by utilizing technologies shared by Mitsubishi Electric, we were able to find innovative market applications for their IPs and gain market traction.

The startups beginning to experiment and utilize the IPs will lead to a scaling up of business for Mitsubishi Electric as it becomes used more widely. As these startups begin to disrupt the different industries they debut in, the IPs that they have depended on from Mitsubishi Electric will set the standard for all other companies. This will allow Mitsubishi Electric to have the market lead start or potentially, the monopoly over that industry.

6 teams consisting of 19 participants from various institutions (NTU, SUTD, Polytechnic and Start-up) joined this program and presented their business ideas to the panel of judges this time. In this 4-month program, the participating teams brainstormed on ideas incorporating either of the 2 technologies provided by Mitsubishi Electric: SeaAerial Antenna and Smart Air Coating.

SafeHaven won the Grand Winner prize for their interesting business idea to leverage the SeaAerial technology to create a self-contained, cost-efficient tsunami warning system to ease implementation and maintenance for vulnerable communities, helping to save lives.

In addition to the Grand Winner, 2 additional prizes were presented by the panel (scroll down for more details).

Leave a Nest will continue to support participants to push forward with their business ideas to prototyping stage. We are aiming to expand the vision of advancing science and technology for global happiness through the utilisation of advanced technologies to address challenges faced especially in the ASEAN region through the bridging of technology.
