Freshwater Crab Science Workshop successfully conducted by Leave a Nest Singapore! 🦀💧🪴
Leave a Nest Singapore is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of its recent science workshop focused on freshwater crabs together with our venue partners City Sprouts. The workshop, held on 3rd February 2024, aimed to deepen participants' understanding of the science behind crab behaviours and shed light on the remarkable adaptation abilities of these fascinating creatures to thrive in both aquatic and terrestrial environments.
The primary objective of the workshop was to provide participants with comprehensive insights into the intricate behaviours of freshwater crabs. Leave a Nest conducted an engaging session, covering topics such as Crab biology and behaviour. Participants had the opportunity to observe live specimens, fostering a deeper appreciation for the scientific aspects of freshwater crab ecology.
The workshop also delved into the incredible adaptation mechanisms that allow freshwater crabs to inhabit both aquatic and terrestrial environments. Participants learned about the physiological, anatomical, and behavioural adaptations that equip crabs to navigate diverse ecosystems.
Main Message: Learning to “ADAPT” Overcomes Daily Difficulties
One of the key takeaways from the workshop was the broader application of the lessons learned from crab adaptation to human life. The Main Message emphasised the significance of adaptability in overcoming daily challenges and adversities. Participants were encouraged to draw parallels between the strategies employed by freshwater crabs and their own lives, recognising that adaptability is an essential skills in overcoming daily difficulties.
