Pioneering West Visayan Innovation Acceleration: Leave a Nest Philippines and Iloilo Science and Technology University Renews Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Continuous Development of Research and Tech Startups
ILOILO CITY, Philippines – In pursuit of the Leave a Nest Philippines' efforts to expand the reach of its projects and initiatives to other regions of the country, the company renews its Memorandum of Understanding with the Iloilo Science and Technology University in spirit of the company’s mission of “Harmonizing Science and Technology Stakeholders for the Empowerment of Filipinos”.
Last September 13, 2024, the Leave a Nest Philippines (LVNS PH) visited the premises of the Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) in order to conduct a signing ceremony to renew the Memorandum of Understanding between the two parties. Represented by Yevgeny Aster Dulla, PhD, Managing Director of LVNS PH, and Gabriel Salistre, Jr., PEE, DIT, SUC President III of ISAT U, the two parties signed an agreement sharing the same vision of scaling up entrepreneurship and innovative ideas of young entrepreneurs and startup companies in the Visayas region.
In this past years of partnership, the two parties were able to collaborate with a number of events including events that support Filipino deep tech startups such as the TECH PLANTER Demo Day Philippines 2022, programs that support researchers into making startups such as the Kwadra Kalumpuwas Program, as well as the recent Visayas TECH PLANTER which is the very first regional TECH PLANTER held in the Philippines in order to cater to startups from the Visayas region. Leave a Nest was also able to help with the benchmarking activities of ISAT U’s technology business incubator, the Kwadra TBI in 2022. This was done through a benchmarking visit to various incubators and institutions in the Kansai and Shikoku region of Japan.
Looking back in history, the ISAT – U is the very first university which officially partnered with Leave a Nest Philippines through an MoU ever since its establishment in March 2021. Going forward, the Leave a Nest Philippines will be working closely with the Kwadra TBI, to collaborate with various future projects such as possibly bringing the company’s flagship research conference the Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference to Iloilo to cater to researchers and professionals in the region, collaborating with Japan startups to bring their technology to the region, as well as other activities related to the development of Filipino startups providing innovative ideas for the betterment of the Philippines
The parties agree to mutually support activities related to the development of more Filipino startups providing innovative ideas for the betterment of the Philippines.
The Leave a Nest Group is very proud to see the initiatives of these local incubators to further develop their society, and would gladly support these kinds of efforts in order to achieve the grand goal of Advancing Science and Technology for Global Happiness.
