From Philosophy to Factory: KOBASHI Monozukuri Highway Seminar opens manufacturing path for SG startups!

Singapore, 20 August 2025 — The KOBASHI Monozukuri Highway Seminar: Manufacturing Standard program convened 19 participants at the NTU Alumni House to translate Japan’s Monozukuri philosophy into actionable, modern manufacturing practice. The event combined a clear framework, real case studies, and the “must-have” design documentation required for smooth production handovers.
The program opened with an introduction to KOBASHI Holdings by Ms. Haruka Sakurai of Leave a Nest Singapore. Session 1 unpacked the fundamentals of Monozukuri and how they guide daily decisions on the factory floor. Session 2 moved into practice—covering design documentation and collaboration with manufacturing partners, including BOM/CAD discipline, test criteria, and production-handover packages—and culminated in an interactive segment where attendees applied the framework to live challenges.

In a keynote address, Mr. Shijori Kobashi, President & CEO of KOBASHI Holdings, emphasized guiding principles that anchor effective problem-solving and continuous improvement:. The principles underpinned discussions on strengthening requirements definition, elevating documentation quality, and reducing rework.

Participants left with a clearer roadmap to improve documentation hygiene (BOM/CAD/test), collaborate more effectively with manufacturing partners for scale-up, and embed Monozukuri’s discipline into day-to-day operations. Building on this momentum, future sessions of the KOBASHI Monozukuri program will continue to focus on practical tools, real-world applications, and cross-industry collaboration to help teams move from philosophy to factory with confidence.
Missed this opportunity? Don't worry. The next session will be on 13th Nov 2025
