Sustainable Food Camp 2026 to Convene Leaders to Co-Create the Future Food Ecosystem

Sustainable Food Asia (SFA), in collaboration with Leave a Nest Malaysia, will host Sustainable Food Camp 2026 (SFC 2026).
Carrying the theme “Co-Creation for the Future Food Ecosystem,” Sustainable Food Camp 2026 will bring together innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, corporates, policymakers, and ecosystem builders to address pressing challenges in health, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility within the food system.
What is Sustainable Food Camp (SFC)?
Sustainable Food Camp (SFC) is an annual open innovation initiative by Sustainable Food Asia (Japan) that brings together key stakeholders in food, agriculture, aquaculture, biotechnology, and sustainability. The platform aims to:
- Bridge the gap between deep-tech research and industry needs
- Enable cross-border collaboration within Asia
- Foster commercialization of impactful technologies
- Build long-term partnerships to address systemic food challenges
Unlike traditional conferences, SFC emphasizes discussion-driven sessions, focused workshops, and curated business matching to ensure tangible outcomes beyond networking.
Addressing Three Critical Agendas for the Future of Food
SFC 2026 will focus on three key agenda areas that reflect urgent regional and global priorities:
1. Health Access
Issue: Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)
With the rise of non-communicable diseases across Asia, SFC 2026 will spotlight actionable solutions that transform prevention into practice. Discussions will explore:
- Turning prevention strategies into real-world implementation.
- Developing functional foods and beverages that make healthier choices more accessible to communities.
By bridging science, innovation, and industry, this agenda aims to expand access to better nutrition and preventive health solutions.
2. Environmental Improvement
Issue: Circular Economy (Food System Circularity)
Food waste and inefficient resource use remain major challenges across the food value chain. SFC 2026 will highlight circular economy approaches, including:
- Tackling food waste through solutions ranging from rapid composting to upcycling.
- Creating measurable ESG impact while reducing disposal costs for restaurants, hotels, and food-service operators.
Participants will explore scalable strategies that transform waste into value while strengthening environmental performance.
3. Social Responsibility
Issue: Nutrition Inequality (Access to Nutrition)
Addressing hidden malnutrition, especially within B40 communities, is a national and regional priority. SFC 2026 will examine:
- Scaling access to affordable, easy-to-use supplements and fortified foods.
- Supporting Malaysia’s Child & Family Nutrition 2023–2030 initiatives and measurable outcomes under the National Strategic Plan to combat child malnutrition.
This track will focus on cross-sector collaboration to ensure equitable access to essential nutrition.
