Future Fuel & Future Food Summit 2026: A Singapore–Japan Government-to-Government Initiative Driving the Next Generation of Food and Energy Innovation

Singapore – Leave a Nest Singapore is proud to announce the Future Food & Fuel Summit (FFFS) 2026 , a flagship Singapore–Japan platform that will bring together leaders from government, industry, academia, startups, investors, and research institutions to accelerate collaboration in future food and future energy.
Held as part of the Singapore–Japan 60th Anniversary (SJ60) celebrations and supported by the Embassy of Japan in Singapore , the Summit aims to strengthen bilateral partnerships and transform scientific innovation into meaningful business collaborations and societal impact.
Strategic Roundtable: Every Square Meter Matters
Singapore and Japan share a common challenge: how can resource-constrained societies continue to grow while demand for food, energy, and sustainable development continues to increase?
As every square meter becomes increasingly valuable, future resilience will depend on how food, energy, and technology work together as one interconnected ecosystem, rather than as separate sectors.
The Future Fuel & Future Food Summit will bring together innovators, corporates, policymakers, researchers, startups, and ecosystem builders to explore how science, technology, and cross-sector collaboration can unlock new value chains, strengthen resource resilience, and build more sustainable communities.
Program Highlights
The Summit will feature an Opening Ceremony, a Strategic Keynote Address, two Future Energy panels, and two Future Food panels, bringing together leaders from Singapore and Japan to explore innovative solutions for food security, energy resilience, and sustainable development. At the heart of the program is the invitation-only Strategic Singapore–Japan Roundtable , where selected leaders from government, industry, academia, startups, investors, and research institutions will develop recommendations that will be published in the Future Fuel & Future Food Summit White Paper . Participants will also have opportunities to connect through the Strategic Deal Room, Technology Showcase & Exhibition, before concluding the day at an exclusive Singapore–Japan Networking Reception held at the Official Residence of the Ambassador of Japan to Singapore.
At the heart of the Summit is the Strategic Singapore–Japan Roundtable , an invitation-based dialogue bringing together selected leaders from industry, government, academia, startups, investors, and research institutions.
The insights and recommendations from the roundtable will be consolidated into the Future Food & Fuel Summit White Paper , which will be published following the event. The White Paper will serve as a strategic reference for participating organizations, policymakers, industry leaders, and ecosystem partners, helping to guide future collaborations between Singapore and Japan.
Turning Conversations into Collaborations
More than a conference, FFFS is designed as a platform that connects the right people to create tangible outcomes.
Participants will have opportunities to build strategic partnerships, explore research and commercial collaborations, engage in curated business matching, showcase innovative technologies, and identify new pilot and market expansion opportunities between Singapore and Japan.
Singapore–Japan Networking Reception
The Summit will conclude with an exclusive Singapore–Japan Networking Reception , held from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Official Residence of the Ambassador of Japan to Singapore .
Hosted with the support of the Embassy of Japan in Singapore, the reception will bring together invited speakers, government representatives, business leaders, researchers, investors, and ecosystem partners in an intimate setting to continue discussions initiated during the Summit. The evening is designed to deepen relationships, foster new partnerships, and celebrate the strong and growing collaboration between Singapore and Japan in science, technology, sustainability, and innovation.
