Leave a Nest Co., Ltd., which will celebrate its 20th anniversary on 14 June 2022, will strengthen its management structure to usher in a new era of knowledge manufacturing, by transitioning from May 2022 to a Co-President structure with Dr. Shuichiro Takahashi (in office) and Dr. Joe Inoue (newly appointed).

Dr. Shuichiro Takahashi, who has been President and COO of Leave a Nest since 2010, has developed and implemented operational systems to build the foundations of the business management system and ensure continuous growth and has worked with many partners who share the same philosophy to develop projects that solve global problems.

The newly appointed President, Dr. Joe Inoue, has been responsible for overseeing Leave a Nest’s research centers, growing the seeds of in-house research and new businesses, and promoting research and technology development in collaboration with a diverse range of institutions, including universities, venture companies and companies, in his role as Vice-President and CTO. As Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO), in the future he will drive knowledge manufacturing in Leave a Nest.

The transition to a two-person cell structure with Dr. Shuichiro Takahashi and Dr. Joe Inoue will effectively integrate business development and research centers, accelerating knowledge manufacturing that creates services from new knowledge and implements them in society for the benefit of the planet.

In the next 20 years, Leave a Nest will realize an organization that continues to produce diverse knowledge and create sustainable businesses by communicating science and technology in an easy-to-understand way, based on the vision of “Advancing Science and Technology for Global Happiness”.

Co-President Structure

Dr. Shuichiro Takahashi (Ph.D. in Life Sciences)  Dr. Joe Inoue (Ph.D. in Pharmacy), Pharmacist.
Founding member of Leave a Nest. He set up a laboratory in Leave a Nest and laid the foundation for research support and R&D projects. To date, he has devised unique business models, exemplified by “Leave a Nest Research Grant” and “L-RAD”, a platform for unused research ideas, and has led many projects involving industry, academia, and education. President and COO since 2010. Founding member of Leave a Nest. After completing his doctoral studies, he worked as an assistant professor and lecturer at the Faculty of Science of Kitasato University, an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Medicine of Kyoto University, and a specially appointed associate professor at the Institute for Advanced Biosciences of Keio University, before being appointed in 2018 and concurrently serving as a professor of advanced pharmaceutical sciences at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Kumamoto University and a visiting professor at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Keio University. He conducts research and development, while being involved in launching joint research projects with universities and research institutions and in supporting the establishment of research institutes.

 

In addition, Ryuta Takeda will be newly appointed as Executive Officer in May 2022 and will be responsible for the Group's strategy to strengthen cooperation between Japan and overseas subsidiaries.
