Leave a Nest Signs MOU with IAPS, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan

– Bridging a Deep-Tech Ecosystem in Taiwan and Japan –
Leave a Nest Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President & COO: Shuichiro Takahashi, hereinafter “Leave a Nest”) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on July 29, 2025, with the Center of Industry Accelerator and Patent Strategy (IAPS), a startup accelerator hosted by National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) in Taiwan (based in Taipei; represented by Prof. Hank Huang).
Through this MOU, both parties aim to strengthen science and technology-based startup support in Japan and Taiwan, while accelerating the formation of a deep-tech ecosystem across the Asia region.
With its vision of “Advancing Science and Technology for Global Happiness,” Leave a Nest has been fostering the knowledge manufacturing industry by forming collaborations with universities, research institutes, and startups. As part of this mission, the company launched the TECH PLANTER program in 2014 to discover and nurture deep-tech startups. Since then, the program has expanded both domestically and internationally.
In Taiwan, TECH PLANTER was conducted from 2014 to 2017, with activities based in Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. During that period, Leave a Nest collaborated with multiple universities and accelerators, including IAPS, to identify and support promising deep-tech entrepreneurs.
IAPS plays a key role in operating the APEC Sports Policy Network (ASPN), which aims to support the international expansion of sports tech startups across Asia—particularly from Taiwan—and to promote cross-border collaboration, including market entry into Japan. In this context, Prof. Hank Huang, Managing Director of IAPS, visited Japan together with seven ASPN Sports Tech Accelerator-selected startups from Taiwan, Malaysia, and South Korea, and engaged in discussions around business expansion in the Japanese market.
This newly signed MOU builds upon the long-standing collaboration between Leave a Nest and IAPS, and aims to create a more sustainable and impactful partnership to support startups between Japan and Taiwan.
