Introduction of the First Internship Student in LVNS Malaysia
Hi! My name is Muhammad Hafiz Hakimi Bin Mohd Zuki. You can call me Hafiz. I’m 23 years old and originally from Kedah, Malaysia. I’m currently studying Bachelors of Chemical Process Engineering at Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), University of Technology Malaysia Kuala Lumpur (UTMKL). Now, I'm in the 6th semester and have another two semesters to complete my degree. The reason why I choose this course for my degree is due to my strong interest in chemistry and physics subjects during my matriculation college.
If you're just studying and sitting for the test, student's life means nothing. I've been actively engaged in many university activities, including clubs and sports. I’m the President of Islamic Society at university and I also participated in the futsal and volleyball tournament held at my university. I had the chance to be one of the exchange student at Tsukuba University, Japan for a month from July 2017 to August 2017. During that period, I had the opportunity to visit wastewater treatment plant located at Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. It's very interesting to see how waste water from Japan's second biggest lake is being treated. At the plant, I was brought into the control room and saw the stages that the water will undergo before it is being fully treated. From that moment, my interest in wastewater treatment begins.
Now, I'm doing my internship program at Leave A Nest Malaysia for 3 months starting from 17th June 2019 to 6th September 2019. I choose Leave A Nest because I like to explore new things. I want to learn and obtain more skills outside the engineering field. Leave A Nest has its own unique vision of attaining global happiness through science and technology. I want to be one of the members who will realize the vision.
In the future, I would like to study more about wastewater treatment and I will figure out on how to improve the current process. As a chemical process engineer to be, I will take the challenge to solve the problem and improve the technology according to Sustainable Development Goals.
