Leave a Nest Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Strengthen Collaboration to Advance Science and Technology
Kuala Lumpur, April 17, 2024 – Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (LVNSMY) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) have officially solidified their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The ceremony, held at UTM Kuala Lumpur, marks a significant step towards enhancing industry collaborations and project co-creations in the fields of research, education, and talent development.
The MoU, signed by Professor Dr. Rosli Md Illias, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research and Innovation, representing UTM, and Mr. Abdul Hakim Sahidi, Managing Director of Leave a Nest Malaysia representing LVNSMY, underscores the shared commitment of both institutions to leverage their resources and expertise for mutual advancement.
“Since the establishment of the Nest Bio-Venture Lab in 2019, we have witnessed the transformative impact on the local scientific landscape, including the collaboration between UTM and Euglena” commented Mr. Abdul Hakim Sahidi, Managing Director of Leave a Nest Malaysia. “With UTM's strong focus on innovation and LVNSMY's support infrastructure, we aim to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs to bring their ideas to life and make a positive impact on society.”
As part of the collaboration, LVNSMY, known for its pioneering work in science communication, will bring its unique programs and platforms to the forefront, with UTM serving as a strategic partner. This partnership will facilitate the dissemination of scientific knowledge and foster innovation within Malaysia and beyond.
Among the members of Leave a Nest Group Malaysia who are UTM alumni are Mr. Nur Ahmad Zaim Hussin, Dr. Ezral Ghazali, and Ir. Dr. Ilia Anisa Aris. Their alma mater, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, has played a pivotal role in shaping their journey towards advancing science and technology.
The partnership between LVNSMY and UTM is not only set to facilitate the growth and commercialization of researchers and startups but also promises to generate a wealth of technologies and research-based knowledge for the benefit of society and the nation at large.
