Deep Tech Tour Indonesia Forges New Ties, Insights For Malaysia Delegation

Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. proudly concluded the Deep Tech Tour Indonesia 2024 (DTT IDN 2024), held from 17th to 20th July 2024. This four-day tour successfully explored Indonesia's vibrant technology ecosystem, offering participants an unparalleled opportunity to delve into the latest advancements, research updates, and innovation trends within the region. The Deep Tech Tour Indonesia 2024 was designed to immerse delegates in Indonesia's technological landscape, showcasing the nation's prowess in innovation and research. The tour highlighted the disruptive technologies emerging from local scenarios and the potential for cross-border collaborations. The primary objective of DTT IDN 2024 was to provide a platform for participants to communicate, experience, and learn from Indonesia's local ecosystems, thereby enhancing regional capabilities in deep tech.

On Day 1 in Bandung, participants visited Rekacipta Inovasi ITB at Institut Teknologi Bandung, where they gained insights into development and production, distribution and marketing, funding, and commercialization. The day also included a visit to e-Fishery, a current Indonesian unicorn in the aquaculture sector, and PT Bentara Tabang Nusantara, known for its internally manufactured drones catering to various industries. On Day 2 in Jakarta, the tour continued to the Science and Technology Park at IPB University, renowned for its high commercialization rate of innovations and support for numerous startups. Participants also visited the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), which consolidates research entities under a single umbrella, and PT Nanotech Indonesia Global, a private entity that supports startups to excel and become independent by connecting the industry with research scientists.

Day 3 in Jakarta included exploring UMG Idealab, focusing on healthcare, food security, green tech, and robotics, and attending the TechLink Summit 2024 organized by the Ministry of Industry, providing an immersion program to understand the latest trends and developments in deep tech. The day also included a facility tour of PIDI 4.0, highlighting advancements in Industry 4.0 technologies and applications. On Day 4 in Jakarta, the final day featured an immersion program at the Tech Planter Indonesia Demo Day, showcasing innovative startups and facilitating potential collaborations.

The tour was attended by representatives including Mohamad Fazzil Naziri bin Abdul Karim and Sharifah Asma from TERAJU, Nor Aisah Binti Hatta from Adastra IP, Mohamad Fadzly bin Mohamad Khalil from Beyond Horizon, and James Anthony Tan from TEASK. Their participation underscored the significance of this event in fostering regional cooperation and technological advancement. The Deep Tech Tour Indonesia 2024 was an enlightening journey, bridging the gap between Indonesian innovators and global stakeholders. By fostering communication and collaboration, the tour aimed to elevate the region's deep tech capabilities and drive forward-looking advancements.
