Leave a Nest Malaysia welcomes Prof. Dr. Iwane Suzuki as Keynote Speaker at Global Algae Summit 2025

Leave a Nest Malaysia is proud to announce that Prof. Dr. Iwane Suzuki, a globally respected researcher from the University of Tsukuba, Malaysia, will join as a keynote speaker at the Global Algae Summit 2025, taking place on 27th August 2025 at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
Prof. Suzuki is internationally recognized for his pioneering work in plant molecular biology, stress physiology, and sustainable biofuel development using microalgae and cyanobacteria. He obtained his Ph.D. in Agricultural Chemistry from Nagoya University in 1994, and since then has led groundbreaking research in molecular signaling, functional genomics, and the engineering of photosynthetic organisms for industrial applications.
Currently a professor at the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Tsukuba, Malaysia, Prof. Suzuki also serves as Vice Director of the Organization for DESIGN THE FUTURE. His research portfolio includes over 150 peer-reviewed publications and several high-impact projects related to microalgae-based biofuels, synthetic gene circuits, and metabolic stress adaptation mechanisms in photosynthetic microbes. A recipient of the Young Scientist Promotion Award from the Botanical Society of Japan and named one of the university’s Best Faculty, Prof. Suzuki continues to lead innovation in environmentally responsible bioenergy.
“We are deeply honored to host Prof. Suzuki at Global Algae Summit 2025,” said the organizing team. “His contributions are not only academically impactful but also deeply aligned with our shared vision for environmental sustainability and green technology innovation in the region.”
The Global Algae Summit is set to gather international researchers, industry leaders, policymakers, and students to explore the frontier of algae-based technologies, climate resilience and sustainable development goals (SDGs).
