Tech Venture Meetup 2026 Strengthens Deep Tech Collaboration and IPO Readiness Across Southeast Asia and Japan

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia | 21 January 2026Tech Venture Meetup (TVMU) 2026, organised by Leave a Nest Malaysia, was successfully held at the Resource Centre, MRANTI Park, bringing together 276 participants from Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore. The event convened deep-tech startups, corporates, investors, government agencies, and ecosystem enablers to accelerate innovation, commercialisation, and cross-border collaboration across the region.

Anchored by the theme “Open to the World: Innovate, Scale, and Go Public,” TVMU 2026 focused on helping science- and technology-based startups scale beyond domestic markets, strengthen operational readiness, and consider public listing as a long-term growth pathway. The programme featured keynote and special remarks from senior leaders, partner presentations, startup pitching sessions, a panel discussion on IPO readiness, exhibition booths, and the Southeast Asia Deep Tech Venture of the Year Award Ceremony.

The event received strong support from local and international partners, including Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SDEC) as Elite Partner; Bursa Malaysia Berhad, MRANTI, and UntroD Capital Asia as Main Partners; and NanoMalaysia Berhad, Sabah Creative Economy and Innovation Centre (SCENIC), Kyowa Leather Cloths, Sendai Global Startup Hub, CAST Inc., Industry Alpha Inc., Eartheories, Tenaga Alam Sekitar Kita (TEASK), and The Sentry Company Limited as Supporting Partners.

Key highlights included a panel discussion titled “Deep Tech to Public Tech: Preparing Startups for the IPO Path,” which explored capital market readiness, governance, leadership mindset shifts, and long-term preparation required for technology companies to go public. The discussion reinforced that IPO is a strategic journey rather than a short-term outcome and emphasised the importance of strong fundamentals, realistic valuation expectations, and capable management teams.

TVMU 2026 also showcased tangible cross-border outcomes through the exchange of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between Malaysian and Japanese companies, reflecting the platform’s ability to translate dialogue into concrete collaboration, technology transfer, and joint market expansion. In addition, the Southeast Asia Deep Tech Venture of the Year Award recognised startups from across the region for their technological innovation, societal impact, and business growth potential.

Overall, TVMU 2026 reaffirmed its role as a strategic bridge connecting innovation, capital, industry, and policy, particularly between Southeast Asia and Japan. Leave a Nest Malaysia remains committed to building on this momentum by deepening partnerships, supporting startup growth pathways, and continuing to create platforms that enable science and technology to deliver meaningful impact at scale.
