Dr. Yuko Ueno

Leave a Nest Malaysia

Dr. Yuko Ueno is the Director of Leave a Nest Malaysia and holds leadership roles in Leave a Nest Singapore, Philippines, and America. She earned her PhD in Life Science from St. Paul’s University (Rikkyo University), Japan. Since joining Leave a Nest in 2013, she has led projects promoting collaboration between Japanese startups and ASEAN companies, including initiatives in circular economy, R&D venture support, and market expansion. With extensive experience mentoring deep-tech startups across Asia, Japan, and the U.S., Dr. Ueno is passionate about bridging ecosystems, nurturing young talent, and fostering innovation that drives sustainable impact globally.

Nur Aziela Aidit

Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak

Nur Aziela Aidit is an English lecturer at the Academy of Language Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak, with nearly two decades of experience in language education. Prior to joining UiTM, she taught at an international university, gaining valuable exposure to diverse academic environments. She is passionate about empowering students through effective communication and critical thinking. Over the years, she has actively contributed to the debating and public speaking community as an adjudicator for numerous debate competitions. Her expertise was further recognised when she was appointed Head Judge for the Secondary School Public Speaking Competition at Karnival e.MAS 6.0, where she helped nurture confident and articulate young speakers

Dr. Ayappa V. Subramaniam

Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation

Dr. Ayappa V. Subramaniam is a Manager, Startups & Investment at Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), where he drives innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives within Sarawak’s digital economy ecosystem. He supports high-potential startups through structured programmes, focusing on commercialization, scalability, and investment readiness. His work involves evaluating startups, facilitating funding opportunities, and building partnerships across government, industry, and investors. Aligned with Sarawak’s Post-COVID Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, he contributes to ecosystem growth and development. He is passionate about nurturing talent, fostering innovation, and supporting the translation of ideas into impactful, real-world solutions across diverse technology sectors.

Mr. Clement Cheong Heng Choy

Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad

Mr. Clement Cheong is a Director of Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad, appointed to the Board on 9 August 2021 and re-designated as Chairman of the Audit Committee in April 2023. He also serves on the Nomination and Remuneration Committees. A chartered accountant and Certified Risk Professional, Mr. Cheong holds an MBA from the University of Bath, England, and is a member of both the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants. With extensive experience in auditing, finance, and risk management, he previously held leadership roles as Chief Internal Auditor and CFO in several major financial institutions. Currently, he is the Principal Consultant at a boutique consultancy firm specializing in internal audits, IPO control reviews, and corporate governance for public listed companies.

Professor Dr. Maki Tsujimura

University of Tsukuba, Malaysia

Prof. Dr. Maki Tsujimura is a Professor of Hydrology and Water Resources/Water Environment at the Institute of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Tsukuba, and serves as Dean of the School of Transdisciplinary Science and Design, University of Tsukuba, Malaysia (UTMy). A specialist in groundwater hydrology and governance, he has conducted research and education in Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Mongolia, Tunisia, Malawi, and Iran. His work includes rainfall-runoff processes and groundwater-surface water interactions in Klang and Langat River watersheds. He supervise international students, integrating their thesis outcomes into his courses while crediting their contributions.

Dr. Matthlessa Anak Matthew Minggu

Natural Resources and Environment Board Sarawak

Dr. Matthlessa Anak Matthew Minggu is a molecular biologist with expertise in synthetic biology and microbial engineering. Work focuses on understanding biological processes at molecular level and applying scientific knowledge in real world challenges in health and bioremediation. With experience in research and science education, She is passionate to inspire young minds to explore the world of science and innovation.
