Tech-Garage Seminar Vol. 10 Strengthens Malaysia–Japan Collaboration in Industrial Digital Transformation Through Strategic AMR Partnership

Leave a Nest Malaysia successfully hosted Tech-Garage Seminar Vol. 10 on 29 July 2026 at the Center of Garage Malaysia, Cyberjaya bringing together government representatives, industry leaders, technology providers, startups, and media to explore how Japanese Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) can accelerate Malaysia’s Industrial Digital Transformation (DX). The seminar was held under the theme “Advancing Malaysia’s Industrial DX with Japanese Autonomous Mobile Robots.”
The event marked a significant milestone in Malaysia–Japan technology collaboration through the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Exchange Ceremony between Industry Alpha Inc., a Japanese autonomous mobile robot developer, and DreamEDGE Sdn. Bhd., one of Malaysia’s leading engineering and technology companies. The collaboration establishes a local framework for the deployment, maintenance, and future development of Industry Alpha’s robotic solutions in Malaysia, supporting the country’s transition towards smarter manufacturing and Industry 4.0.
The seminar commenced with opening remarks from Leave a Nest Malaysia, introducing the vision of Tech-Garage as a platform that connects government, academia, industry, and technology innovators to accelerate the adoption of deep technologies for Malaysia’s industrial development. This was followed by an official address from Mr. Nihei Daisuke, Minister of the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia, who reaffirmed the importance of strengthening Malaysia–Japan collaboration in driving innovation and industrial digital transformation.
The programme continued with a special presentation highlighting the journey behind the collaboration between Industry Alpha Inc. and DreamEDGE Sdn. Bhd., showcasing how the partnership was facilitated through Leave a Nest under the Global South Future Oriented Co-creation Subsidy supported by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Participants then gained valuable insights into the technologies, expertise, and future vision of both companies through dedicated partner presentations.
A key highlight of the seminar was the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Exchange Ceremony between Industry Alpha Inc. and DreamEDGE Sdn. Bhd., witnessed by representatives from the Embassy of Japan, Leave a Nest Group, and Leave a Nest Malaysia. The agreement signifies a shared commitment to accelerating the deployment, maintenance, and future development of autonomous mobile robot (AMR) technologies in Malaysia while strengthening industrial collaboration between the two countries.
Following the ceremony, a question-and-answer session provided participants with the opportunity to learn more about the motivations behind the partnership, future commercialization plans, and the potential of Malaysia as a strategic hub for Japanese deep-tech companies. The seminar concluded with closing remarks and a networking session, where participants from government agencies, industry, academia, and the startup ecosystem exchanged ideas and explored future collaboration opportunities in advancing Malaysia’s industrial digital transformation.
The event attracted a diverse audience from government agencies, investment promotion organizations, innovation ecosystem partners, media, and industry. Representatives from organizations including JETRO Kuala Lumpur, MIDA, MRANTI, Cyberview, DreamEDGE, Industry Alpha, JTB Malaysia, Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), NNA Malaysia, and several media organisations participated in the seminar, reflecting strong interest in advancing industrial automation and Malaysia–Japan technology collaboration.
