During the signing ceremony, UST expressed that Leave a Nest Philippines has been integral in providing “collaboration in promoting research and innovation aimed at solving society's problems.” Similarly, Dr. Dulla believes that UST’s commitment as one of the most respected and productive tertiary education institutions is a significant part in molding and creating the next generation of empowered scientists, innovators, and entrepreneurs that can create impactful solutions.

Initial discussions were made with UST’s TOMASInno Center (TIC) which is why the agreement focuses mainly on the support for deep technology startups. However, the Memorandum of Agreement serves as the recognition between continuing partnerships of Leave a Nest PH and UST in boosting initiatives that advances not only science entrepreneurship, and startup creation initiatives in the Philippines, but also science education and deep technology research, staying true to the purpose of existence of both parties. Additionally, with UST’s thrust in the medical and pharmaceutical field, education technology, and active incubation initiatives, they will mutually utilize these for shared knowledge manufacturing. With this, University of Santo Tomas officially became the 7th MOU Partner of Leave a Nest with university and university-affiliated divisions.

Prior to this signing, University of Santo Tomas has participated in previous Leave a Nest programs conducted here in the Philippines and even spanning even before the Philippine subsidiary was established in 2021. Notably, University of Santo Tomas was the co-organizer of Leave a Nest Philippines for the Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference in the Philippines 2023, flagship conference of the Leave a Nest Group, conducted last November 2023 at the Benavides Building, University of Santo Tomas-Manila campus. Leave a Nest PH is also looking forward to supporting UST’s startups and researchers, as well as collaborating for other initiatives of the company.
