Iloilo Science and Technology University as Visayas TECH PLANTER 2024 Official University co-organizer

Leave a Nest Philippines proudly announces  Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U) as University Co-organizer for the Visayas TECH PLANTER 2024, the INAUGURAL regional implementation of the TECH PLANTER program in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. This significant event, set to take place on August 10, 2024 at the  Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo City, will showcase and connect local startups exclusively from the Visayas region while reinforcing the dynamic network of innovation in the region.

This partnership marks the continuation of a successful collaboration that began in 2021, when both parties were just newly-established. The first collaboration was the conduct of the 6th TECH PLANTER Philippines in 2022 which was also the first TECH PLANTER program organized by the local members of Leave a Nest Philippines.  ISAT-U also partnered with Leave a Nest Philippines to implement the Kwadra Lampuwas, which is a program developed by Leave a Nest to introduce the university’s startups and professors to Japanese methodologies and the QPMI Cycle, encouraging them to pursue entrepreneurship with their innovations and research. This initiative focuses on enhancing clarity and distinction in research and business models, ultimately aiming to strengthen the long-term sustainability of emerging startups through the integration of deep technologies. Another collaboration was also done when Leave a Nest also brought representatives of ISAT-U to various institutions in Japan for them to benchmark activities related to deep tech research and development, and how deep tech ventures operate and are being supported in the country. Both parties are also currently renewing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that was signed in 2021 – as more collaborations are expected to further allow knowledge sharing between ISAT-U and the Leave a Nest network to further develop the deep technology and startup ecosystem of Iloilo and the Visayas region.
