From Concept to Completion: A Final Look at the Ki Ni Naru Project 2024-2025 Final Presentation
Last January 18, 2025, the Ki ni Naru Project officially conducted its final presentation held at the Ateneo de Manila University Rizal Mini Theater during the very first science castle in the Philippines. As a refresher, the Ki Ni Naru Project is a four-month training program for students that have little to no background in doing scientific research. Guided by their assigned mentors and recorded videos, participants conducted a research project on a curiosity basis. To celebrate their first steps into the world of science and research, the young learners shared their findings with society, inspiring attendees of all ages to explore the wonders of science. The Science Castle served as a testament to the success of the Ki Ni Naru Project in fostering scientific curiosity and nurturing a new generation of researchers.
The much-anticipated Ki Ni Naru Final Presentation Session was facilitated by Neil Clarence Diaz from the Human Development Division. It was then followed by a warm and encouraging speech delivered by Jewel Santos, the project leader from the Research Development Division. Afterwards, the student scientists then presented their findings in the following order: Morong National High School Team, Learn and Explore Montessori School Team 3, Jose C. Payumo National High School, Hermosa National High School, Learn and Explore Montessori High School Team 2, and Mariveles National High School—Poblacion. Each team was given 5 minutes to present their findings and 3 minutes for a question-and-answer portion by the invited Advisory Board members.

Before the session concluded, we recognized the schools with plaques for their unwavering support of student education and the Ki ni naru Project. We also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of our esteemed advisory board members and expressed our sincere gratitude for their guidance and support to our young participants.
The afternoon's agenda includes an awards ceremony alongside the presentation of awards for Science Castle participants. The recipients of these awards were carefully selected after a thorough deliberation process by their respective panels of judges. The Ki ni naru teams were recognized for their exceptional work and dedication, receiving the following awards:

The teams deserve recognition for stepping beyond their comfort zones and immersing themselves in the world of scientific research and presentation. This journey underscores the importance of effectively communicating research findings to a diverse audience—a skill that our aspiring scientists not only practiced but fully grasped.
Over the course of the 4-month project, participants gained invaluable experience by exploring their curiosities through hands-on research. They navigated key stages of the scientific process, from selecting topics and forming hypotheses to designing research plans, collecting data, analyzing results, and drawing conclusions. The participants also learned the value of teamwork and collaboration and developed a deeper understanding of how to approach questions, fueled by curiosity and passion for discovery.
The Ki Ni Naru Final Presentation Session stands as a testament to the project’s success in fostering curiosity, collaboration, and mutual support, reflecting the core values of both the Ki Ni Naru project and Leave a Nest.
