LAN x TCELS Successfully Conducted Final Presentation for Biotech Venture Kickstart Programme in Thailand
Leave a Nest successfully conducted the Biotech Venture Kickstart Programme final presentation day in Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS). A total of 7 teams presented their projects in the Biotech and Healthcare field. Out of all the teams who had presented, we are pleased to announce that four have each received 100,000 THB from TCELS to further their research and business plans.
TCELS is a public organization founded by the government and under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. TCELS provides the link between innovation in life sciences and investment, and spurring domestic and international partnership in the life science business in Thailand.
Together with TCELS, Leave a Nest will provide support not only to award recipients and finalists but to all teams in order to accelerate their research and businesses.
The event commenced with opening remarks from CEO of TCELS, Dr. Nares Damrongchai followed by keynote speech from TECH PLAN DEMO DAY THAILAND 2019 Grand Winner Mr. Songpakorn Punong-ong, from ReadRing.

Team: Super AMP
Theme: Anti-microbial peptide cocktail with natural substances that are synergistic to each other that can prevent food spoilage by killing microorganisms. An alternative to chemical preservatives.
Team: VINA
Theme: Developing innovative health bionanosensors in several platforms
Team: PetStem
Theme: Treatment using STEM cells are cheaper than monthly medical checkups and medicine for pets. A special formula to grow STEM cells faster.
Team: SC Healthtech
Theme: Detect harmful chemicals (metal furans) in seafood by doing a DNA sequence on specific species and create a solution that has the specific peptides with gold nanoparticles to detect a chemical agent in fish and shrimp meat.
Team: IgY Egg
Theme: Injecting immunoagent into hens, such that the IgY will be transported into the laid eggs and increase immunity in human body when eaten, as there is positive effect of egg yolk IgY antibodies on bacterial intoxications
Team: Atapy
Theme: Hardware and firmware of the devices (a smart pendant and speaker) and hub on their own that allows caretakers to keep track of the activities of the elderly and also allows the elderly to have easy access to emergency services more conveniently.
Team: Panacura
Theme: Genome data collecting company that is sequencing Thai people's DNA for the next 5 years. The data they are collecting can be used for different services such as insurance, pharmaceutical and supplements.

This grant is to aid research scientists and engineers turn their inventive technologies into commercially viable products and feasible business ventures.
Selected teams will be invited to TECH VENTURE Meetup in Thailand 2019. In this event, start-up teams will have the opportunity to connect and explore collaboration and funding opportunities with partners and accelerators from Japan and Thailand.
