Add Venture Forum (AVF) February 2025 Recap

The Add Venture Forum (AVF) February 2025 successfully brought together students and startups, fostering meaningful connections and inspiring future innovators. Held on February 28 at The Meeting Point, the forum welcomed 25 students from diverse academic backgrounds—including undergraduate, master’s, and PhD levels—representing institutions such as the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), James Cook University, and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Five deep-tech startups—Crunch Cutlery, Esco Aster, EYO, ProfilePrint, and Shandi—actively participated, alongside Leave a Nest, which also hosted a booth.

The event kicked off with an opening address, reinforcing the theme: “Envision how you can bridge your skills and passions with a company’s vision, creating a future of shared growth and success.” This message set the stage for an engaging and impactful session ahead.

A key highlight of this year’s AVF was the introduction of the Entrepreneurship Workshop, distinguishing it from last year’s inaugural edition. The workshop encouraged students to explore how they could align their passions with real-world applications—whether through intrapreneurship, by driving innovation within existing companies, or by venturing into entrepreneurship. It also served as a launchpad for an upcoming venture-building program designed for aspiring entrepreneurs and researchers eager to develop solutions that enrich and fulfil human lives. More information on the program is available at this link.

Following the workshop, the five participating startups took the stage to pitch their businesses, offering insights into their missions and technological innovations. This was followed by four structured booth sessions, where students engaged in candid discussions with startup representatives. To maximise relevance and impact, each student was pre-assigned a personalized list of four companies to visit, tailored to their academic backgrounds and career interests.

The event concluded with closing remarks that reiterated AVF’s core message—encouraging students to align their career paths with their skills, interests, and passions. A networking session followed, providing a platform for open, dynamic interactions among all participants, further strengthening connections between students and startups.

With this successful edition of AVF, we look forward to continuing to inspire and empower the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs in Singapore and beyond.
