Forensic Science Workshop successfully conducted by Leave a Nest Singapore! πππͺ
Leave a Nest Singapore is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of its recent science workshop focused on chromatography and chemical analysis. The workshop, held on 6th April 2024, aimed to deepen participants' understanding of the science behind pigments and chemical analysis, shedding light on how to use simple experiments to dissect the evidence found and determine which pen did the cookie thief use and what was the mystery powder left at the scene.
The primary objective of the workshop was to provide participants with comprehensive insights into simple science methodology and techniques, and how to apply them. Leave a Nest conducted an engaging session, covering topics such as Chromatograpy and Chemical reactions. Participants had the opportunity to observe what colours make up the black ink used in markers and how different powders react when mixed with different liquids.
The workshop also delved into the detailed observations of the reactions and organised methodology of experimentation, discovering the differences of reactions of commonly found household ingredients and the subtle but observable difference between them.
Main Message: Learning to be βOrganisedβ Tackling task with many components
One of the key takeaways from the workshop was the broader application of the lessons learned from simple organisation of the experiment area to other projects. The Main Message emphasised the significance of being organised and physically making notes to ensure that the experiments and substances can be easily identified and with which reactions match the substance discovered.
