Hosting eMBA candidates at Leave a Nest Singapore

On 25 September 2024, a group of candidates in the NUS eMBA programme participated in a sharing session at the Leave a Nest Singapore office. They are business owners and managers from Latin America, and paid a visit to Leave a Nest to learn about innovation.

To start off, Leeyon, a member of Leave a Nest, briefly introduced his passion for bridging basic research to real innovation, and shared some examples of basic research revolutionising industries. Following this, he led an exciting demonstration of the tonari livestream portal service, which saw members from Leave a Nest Malaysia interacting with the participants. The participants showed great interest and had many questions about tonari, providing a clear example of how deep tech innovation can be appealing and immediately useful to businesspeople.

Addi, another Leave a Nest member, and Kihoko, Managing Director of Leave a Nest Singapore, then gave an overview of Leave a Nest's activities. Kihoko, in particular, shared how Leave a Nest members contribute to knowledge manufacturing through bridging various parties. The participants were interested by how Leave a Nest commercialises knowledge manufacturing, and Kihoko gave insight on how Leave a Nest creates a viable business out of innovation.

For the participants, this sharing session provided valuable insight on the interplay between business and innovation. They took home a deeper understanding of innovation as a business, and can apply it to their own experience managing businesses to encourage and enable innovation. Leave a Nest is happy to conduct similar sharing sessions for students of higher learning institutes, and is also able to plan full programmes such as this past programme for Tokyo Metropolitan University. We are welcoming students from Tokyo Metropolitan University for a one-week programme in Malaysia and Singapore later this year as well, so do look forward to hearing more about that!
