Biotech Beyond Boundaries: Borne from Passion — Panel Session 1 at HIC IDN 2026

Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference Indonesia (HIC IDN) 2026 proudly announces Panel Discussion 1: “Biotech Beyond Boundaries: Borne from Passion.” This forward-looking forum will bring together innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs and policymakers who share a relentless drive to push the limits of biotechnology. The session is organized in partnership with Innoqua and BIKI, and will be moderated by Hadi Akbar bin Dahlan, Project Leader of HIC IDN 2026.
Driven by passion and powered by collaboration, the panel will explore the breakthroughs, challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the life sciences. Key themes include:
-
- Emerging technologies that are redefining what biotechnology can do.
- Translational pathways from lab bench to market and community impact.
- Regulatory landscapes that enable or constrain fast-moving innovation.
- Bio-entrepreneurship and strategies for building sustainable biotech ventures
- Ethical considerations and responsible innovation as biotech crosses geographic, sectoral and societal boundaries.
Partners and perspectives
Innoqua (Tokyo, est. 2019) reproduces ocean biospheres in the lab with its Biosphere Transfer Technology: closed artificial-seawater systems, in-house IoT monitoring and proprietary AI image analysis. The platform enables repeatable marine experiments, coral-health diagnostics and species preservation while lowering cost and ecological impact. Innoqua supports R&D, coral conservation, education and biosphere tank deployment.
BIKI is an Indonesian agrifood-tech startup tackling post-harvest loss with Chitasil, an edible coating made from shrimp-shell waste that can double shelf life. Its model combines BIKI Points (packing-house food-rescue hubs), Kito-B nano bio-booster, farmer training and digital traceability to boost incomes, reduce waste and emissions, and empower women. BIKI’s solutions have earned national and international impact awards.
Why this matters
“Biotech Beyond Boundaries: Borne from Passion” is designed to be more than a showcase of ideas. It is a working conversation meant to surface clear opportunities for cross-border collaboration, accelerate translational research, and identify policy and business models that allow life-science innovation to benefit communities responsibly and at scale.
