AGRI-TECH GRAND PRIX 2026 Philippines: Empowering Filipino Agri-Tech Innovators from Lab to Field

Leave a Nest Philippines is proud to announce the AGRI-TECH GRAND PRIX 2026 Philippines, a landmark initiative under TECH PLANTER, commemorating the program’s 10th anniversary in the Philippines and marking the first domain-based TECH PLANTER leg to be held outside Japan.

ABOUT AGRI-TECH GRAND PRIX AND TECH PLANTER

The AGRI-TECH GRAND PRIX originated in Japan as part of TECH PLANTER, Leave a Nest’s flagship deep-tech startup acceleration program designed to bridge scientific research and real-world industry applications. Since its inception, TECH PLANTER has supported science- and technology-driven startups emerging from universities, research institutions, and laboratories – particularly in fields where long-term research is essential, such as agriculture, biotechnology, and environmental science.

Agriculture has been a core focus of TECH PLANTER in Japan, where the AGRI-TECH GRAND PRIX was established to address challenges such as aging farming populations, food security, productivity gaps, and sustainability, by turning research outcomes into viable agricultural solutions.

WHY BRING AGRI-TECH GRAND PRIX TO THE PHILIPPINES

The Philippines was chosen as the first international host of a domain-based TECH PLANTER program with recognition of the country’s strong agricultural foundation, growing research capabilities, and urgent need for scalable agri-tech solutions.

Agriculture remains a vital pillar of the Philippine economy, employing a significant portion of the population and playing a critical role in food security, rural livelihoods, and climate resilience. At the same time, the sector faces pressing challenges, such as climate change impacts, yield inefficiencies, post-harvest losses, and limited access to technology, that require science-based, locally adapted innovations.

Over the past decade, TECH PLANTER Philippines has witnessed a steady rise in:

 1. Agricultural and biological research outputs from Philippine universities and R&D institutions
 2. Startup founders and researchers developing technologies in agri-biotechnology, smart farming, precision agriculture, and sustainable food systems
3. Industry and government interest in translating research into commercial and community-level impact

These developments make the Philippines a natural next step for expanding the AGRI-TECH GRAND PRIX beyond Japan.

AGRI-TECH GRAND PRIX 2026 PHILIPPINES

The AGRI-TECH GRAND PRIX 2026 Philippines will spotlight Philippine-based startups, researchers, and entrepreneurs developing impactful technologies in agriculture and related fields.
