Announcement of Abdul Hakim Sahidi as the first local Managing Director in Leave a Nest Group
Leave a Nest Group has marked it’s new history with the appointment of Mr. Abdul Hakim Sahidi as the first local Managing Director of Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn Bhd with former Managing Director, Ms. Nami Akinaga as the new Director CAO effective from 1st May 2019.
The new company structure after 1st May 2019 is as follows.

Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn Bhd was established on 14th October 2013 by Dr. Kihoko Tokue (Currently Director of Leave a Nest Malaysia as well as Managing Director of Leave a Nest Singapore Pte Ltd) with the vision of “Advancing Science and Technology for Global Happiness”. Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn Bhd then appointed Nami Akinaga as the managing director in May 2017 prior to Abdul Hakim Sahidi’s promotion as the current local managing director of Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
Abdul Hakim Sahidi joined Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn Bhd on 1st September 2016 as one of the first members together with Fatin Ilyani. Since then, members of Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn Bhd have growing to six members as in May 2019 with four divisions including Education Development, Human Resource Development, Research Development and Frontier Development division. In Leave a Nest Malaysia, Hakim started his career journey as the assistant manager in Strategy Development Division and have been managing TECH PLANTER program in Malaysia in 2017 and 2018. In October 2018, he was then announced as the first local director of Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
Future Vision
As the newly appointed local managing director, he will now focus on localization and positioning Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. in local ecosystem. He aimed to expand connections to more local partners, create more local programs and attract more local talents to the company. He also would like to create more platforms to bridge Malaysia and Japan ecosystem.
With his appointment, Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn Bhd again created history with its first local and youngest managing director at the age of 27 years and about 3 years of joining the company. We hope that he will strengthen this company with his vision and capability, leading Leave a Nest Malaysia to spread the vision of “Advancing Science and Technology for Global Happiness” especially to Malaysia and other countries in the region.
Achievements in 2018
Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn Bhd has created connections with more than 20 schools, 13 universities, 116 researchers and 117 alumni teams from TECH PLANTER program.
Here is the highlighted events for Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn Bhd:
1. Program:
i) TECH PLANTER in Indonesia has successfully completed its second year on 4th May 2019.ii) First Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference on 19th January 2019.
iii) First human resource program, Career Discovery Forum on 20th October 2018.
2. Partnership:
i) MOU exchange with Innovation Technology Management university Association (ITMA), Indonesia Business Incubation Association (AIBI) and My Conceptual Robotics Sdn Bhd (MyCro) to strengthen collaboration with university and industry.
ii) Nest-Bio Venture Lab in collaboration with Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (MJIIT-UTM) to deepen our research activities and nurture the next generation scientists and biotechnology startups.
