Junior Engineers built an Automatic Control Circuit to save the world!!
On 19th December 2019, Leave a Nest Malaysia had organised a science workshop called ‘Save Energy Through Automatic Control Workshop’ at NEST-Bio Venture Lab, MJIIT-UTM KL. This workshop was participated by 7 students from various schools in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. The objective of the workshop is to give students an understanding about the importance of saving energy and basic concept of Electrical Automatic Control circuit as a solution to the problem of over utilised electricity.
As the introduction of the workshop, Mr. Zaim, the teaching manager gave an introduction about the current main problem faced by the world which is climate change and its effect to the world. They also learned the factors that cause climate change and steps to be taken to save the world. The most interesting and exciting part about this workshop was the hands-on session where the students were given the opportunity to build their own automatic control circuit to control the light intensity.
During the experiment period, the students were guided by teaching assistants on how to read the schematic diagram and steps to build the circuit on the breadboard. Besides that, the students also experienced learning the simple programming using arduino platform during the hands on session and tested their circuit whether its function or not. As a result, all the students successfully created their own automatic control circuit.
We received positive feedbacks from the students regarding this workshop. Nur Aina Zulaikha from Sekolah Seri Puteri, Cybejaya said that from this workshop, she learned how to make the circuit.
As a conclusion,this workshop exposes the students on the importance of saving energy for the world and to continue doing research so that they can find solutions for all the global challenges thus bringing happiness to the world.
