Subang Jaya, Malaysia – Leave a Nest Malaysia, lead knowledge manufacturing company dedicated to fostering global tech innovation, is proud to announce a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing with Taylor’s University Impact Lab Food Security and Nutrition. This collaboration aims to fortify agriculture and food security initiatives, with a specific focus on nutrition, modern farming, and related sectors through the avenue of commercialization research and development (R&D). This partnership signifies a milestone in addressing critical challenges surrounding food security and nutrition, particularly in the Malaysian context. By leveraging the expertise and resources of both organizations, this initiative seeks to implement innovative solutions that will enhance agricultural productivity, improve access to nutritious food, and promote sustainable agricultural practices.

Leave a Nest Malaysia (LVNS MY) brings to the table its extensive experience in fostering technological advancements and promoting entrepreneurship within the scientific community. Through its network and platforms, the LVNS MY is committed to supporting startups and research endeavors that have the potential to make a meaningful impact on society. Taylor’s University Impact Lab Food Security and Nutrition, on the other hand, is renowned for its multidisciplinary approach to addressing complex societal issues. With a focus on research, education, and community engagement, the Impact Lab is dedicated to generating actionable insights and scalable solutions that contribute to the well-being of communities, both locally and globally.

The MoU was signed by Emeritus Prof. Dr. P.T. Thomas, Executive Dean of Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences at Taylor’s University, and Mr. Abdul Hakim Sahidi, Managing Director of Leave a Nest Malaysia. The signing was witnessed by Associate Professor Dr. Chong Li Choo, Director of Impact Lab Food Security and Nutrition at Taylor’s University, and Dr. Yukihiro Maru, Founder and Group CEO of Leave a Nest Group.

Key areas of collaboration between LVNS MY and Taylor’s University Impact Lab Food Security and Nutrition include:

  • Commercialization Research and Development (R&D): Jointly conducting research projects aimed at developing innovative solutions to enhance agricultural productivity, improve food distribution systems, and address nutritional challenges.
  • Knowledge Sharing and Capacity Building: Organizing workshops, seminars, and training programs to disseminate knowledge and build capacity among stakeholders, including farmers, policymakers, and industry professionals.
  • Community Outreach and Engagement: Collaborating on initiatives to raise awareness about food security and nutrition issues, promote sustainable farming practices, and empower communities to take action.

 

Prof. Dr. P.T. The MoU signing ceremony took place on February 24, at Taylor’s University in conjunction with the Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference in Malaysia 2024 with the theme “Tech-Powered Transformation for Malaysia’s Food Resilience”, was attended by representatives from both organizations, as well as key stakeholders from the academic, government, and private sectors.
