Young Innovators Embark on Mars Mission at NEST Workshop: Space Rover

CYBERJAYA, December 23, 2024 – Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. successfully hosted the “Mission to Mars: Hands-On Rover Building and Coding Workshop” at the Center of Garage Malaysia (COGMY) Seminar Room. The event, which ran from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, engaged seven enthusiastic participants in an immersive learning experience combining space exploration, engineering, and coding.

The day began with an ice-breaking session led by the Teaching Manager and Assistants, fostering a collaborative atmosphere. Dr. Izzaty then provided a comprehensive theoretical explanation about Mars, setting the stage for the hands-on activities to follow.

A highlight of the morning session was the solar panel space rover kit assembly. Participants demonstrated their engineering skills by successfully constructing and testing their rovers under actual sunlight, witnessing firsthand the power of solar energy in space exploration.

Following a lunch break, the afternoon focused on Python coding, expertly guided by Teaching Manager Ms. Siti Nur Aisyah Robi. The session covered theoretical concepts, practical challenges, and an engaging Q&A, captivating the students' interest in programming for space applications.

The workshop concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony and a photo session with Mr. Nur Ahmad Zaim, Director of Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., celebrating the participants' achievements.

“This workshop exemplifies our commitment to inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers,” said Mr. Zaim. “By combining hands-on experiences with theoretical knowledge, we're nurturing the skills and passion needed for future space exploration.”

The success of this event underscores Leave a Nest Malaysia's dedication to innovative STEM education, preparing young minds for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow's scientific frontiers.
