Technology Applications for Industry and Sustainability
A key focus of DTT MY 2026 was the application of advanced technologies to address real industry challenges:
- NEC Solution Innovators showcased high-precision satellite positioning and real-time location technologies with potential applications in infrastructure inspection, geohazard monitoring, agriculture, and autonomous mobility.
- Homura Heavy Industries Corporation presented robotic solutions for pipeline, sewage, and rescue inspections, with discussions on adapting the technology for Malaysian utilities and coastal environments.
- CAST Inc. introduced thin ultrasonic sensor technologies designed to operate with high accuracy under elevated temperature conditions, offering solutions across multiple industrial sectors.
These engagements resulted in strong interest in PoC collaborations, particularly in plantation management, worker safety, and data-driven decision-making.
Towards Long-Term Collaboration
The programme concluded with strong mutual interest in continued engagement, with several parties committing to further discussions on PoCs, technical evaluations, and joint projects. The DTT MY January 2026 programme reaffirmed Malaysia’s position as a collaborative, industry-ready innovation hub and highlighted the value of science-based co-creation between Japan and Malaysia.
Leave a Nest will continue to play an active role in bridging deep tech, industry, and society, fostering cross-border collaborations that translate advanced technologies into meaningful societal and industrial impact.
