HIC VN 2024 Keynote Session Panelists – Challenging the Box: Accentuating Vietnam’s Scientific Ingenuities
On February 3, 2024 is one of our flagship conferences, the Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference in Vietnam. This conference aims to showcase innovative research from various disciplines, potentially leading to groundbreaking opportunities for the country's development and addressing global challenges. Initiating “Challenging the Box: Accentuating Vietnam’s Scientific Ingenuities,” for this year’s theme aims to recognize Vietnam's creativity and innovation in adapting to challenges over time with a unique mindset.
This session represents a deliberate departure from conventional boundaries, seeking to ignite a transformative exploration. The country's researchers, known for their agility and adaptability, have been pivotal in driving breakthroughs across various fields. This commitment to cutting-edge research, coupled with a culture that encourages unconventional perspectives, positions Vietnam at the forefront of global innovation. The Vietnamese research landscape is indeed characterized by an out-of-the-box character, propelling the nation into a prominent role in the international research community.
We have invited individuals with extensive backgrounds in Vietnamese academic research, as well as those engaged in research-based startups and companies in Vietnam. They will discuss how they typically operate within academic contexts and share insights on how the research mindset contributes to corporate setups. Our panelists also bring valuable insights from their experiences in fostering collaboration between industry and academia. Through this session, we aim to help the audience grasp the significance of such collaborations. They play a pivotal role in developing technologies that drive improvement and create opportunities within the research landscape. More importantly, we aim to divulge the unique mindset that drives innovation in Vietnam, so that the audience can also have a reference on how further create more research and technologies that are unique and well-suited to solve local challenges.

Dr. Vo Nguyen Xuan Phuong, a seasoned Research Group Leader with 15 years of experience, specializes in spearheading transformative initiatives in three key domains:
ECO-HEALTH: Her focus lies in ensuring the sustainable development of livelihoods for buffer zone communities. His efforts are dedicated to fostering mutual benefits that harmonize with wetland conservation.
ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION: In the realm of environmental remediation, she is at the forefront of processing and recycling toxic wastes. She is dedicated to developing advanced materials and technologies that serve as practical solutions to combat environmental pollution.
RENEWABLE ENERGIES: Dr.Phuong is a trailblazer in the field of renewable energies. Her expertise encompasses the conversion and storage of renewable energy sources. She is actively involved in creating durable components for solid fuel cells, pioneering membrane-based gas separation, and developing reforming catalysts for industrial applications.
With an unwavering commitment to innovation and sustainability, Dr. Vo Nguyen Xuan Phuong continues to make significant contributions to the fields of Eco-Health, Environmental Remediation, and Renewable Energies.

He joined Lea Bio Inc. in August 2019 and transitioned to Lea Bio Viet Nam LLC in May 2023.
