Knowledge Partnership for Knowledge Manufacturing: Leave a Nest Philippines and National Development Company signs a Memorandum of Understanding
MAKATI CITY, Philippines – In pursuit of Leave a Nest Philippines’ mission of “Harmonizing Science and Technology Stakeholders for the Empowerment of Filipinos”, it hopes to strengthen its partnership with institutions that advocate for a well-rounded life cycle for scientists, engineers, and innovators here in the country.
Guided by that, the Leave a Nest Philippines (LVNS PH), represented by Managing Director Dr. Yevgeny Aster Dulla, and the National Development Company (NDC), represented by General Manager Mr. Antonilo DC. Mauricio, have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding agreement last August 8, 2024 at the Philippine Innovation Hub in Makati City. This MOU signing event solidifies the knowledge partnership and initiatives between LVNS PH and NDC towards bridging science and technology education and research initiatives and fostering deep technology startups and researchers here in the Philippines and beyond.
NDC General Manager Antonilo Mauricio previously mentioned that this knowledge partnership hopes to provide a hub of innovation and communication among all partners of NDC and relevant stakeholders to achieve the goals set forth in the agreement with Leave a Nest. Leave a Nest Philippines aims to leverage this partnership to support the Philippine Deep Tech ecosystem it is building, attract more teams to pursue this entrepreneurship path laser-focused on solving deep issues, and to capture trust and partnership among local and international corporate partners to find value in supporting deep technology builders that have persistent disruptive potential. LVNS PH and NDC are continuously discussing partnership for programs that will fully utilize the network and upcoming facilities, especially in the regional areas, to diversify the ecosystem and decentralize innovation from the Capital.
Prior to this partnership, the National Development Company was involved with the Leave a Nest Group through its venture capital arm, UntroD Capital Asia Pte. Ltd. (formerly known as RTHD Singapore Pte. Ltd.) as Co-Investment Partners under the Startup Venture Fund (SVF). These two entities have co-invested on SolX Technologies Inc., a Filipino energy-tech startup that aims to lower electricity costs by connecting consumers directly to appropriate energy suppliers. SolX Technologies is under the Leave a Nest’s network of deep tech startups as an alumnus and awardee of its TECH PLANTER in the Philippines 2022 program. Additionally, General Manager Mauricio has also graced the cover of the 20th Volume of Nest Garage, Leave a Nest Group’s official English magazine distributed in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries, as he focused on its deep tech.
Together in that event, NDC signed knowledge partnerships with Ateneo de Manila University (also an MOU partner of Leave a Nest Philippines), Meet Ventures, Twala, and the Game Developers Association of the Philippines.
