[20th Anniversary Project-17] Leave a Nest Museum, a place to experience the path of our 20 years to create the future ahead, opens in Center of Garage
In commemoration of its 20th anniversary, Leave a Nest Co., Ltd. opened the “Leave a Nest Museum” in Center of Garage (Sumida-ku, Tokyo) as a place to look back on the history of the company since its establishment and to forge the future ahead.
Founded in 2002 by 15 undergraduate and graduate students of science and engineering, Leave a Nest did not have any outstanding technology or business model in the beginning, nor did its founders have any experience in company management. These young people who loved science and technology and spent their days researching at university started the company driven by the sole intention of contributing to global happiness through their research.
Leave a Nest saw its first light as a student venture waving the corporate slogan of “Bio-Education’s Leave a Nest” and soon succeeded in commercializing the first science workshop in Japan for elementary, middle and high-school students. After the founding members obtained their Master Degrees, the company was rebranded to “Cutting-edge Science’s Leave a Nest” and rapidly diversified and expanded its business.
From there, each and every employee launched, for example, the “Space Education Project”, “Plant Factory with in-store Production and Consumption”
, the “Fukuyuki Pork”, the “Leave a Nest Research Fund”, the “Super Interdisciplinary Conference”, and many other unique and ground-breaking projects based on their own passion and issues they wished to solve, leading to the corporate brand being changed to “Leave a Nest, the Knowledge-based Platform” on the 12th anniversary in 2014. Today, the Leave a Nest platform has expanded to cover approximately 30 prefectures in Japan and 9 countries around the world, and is promoting more than 200 projects per year involving numerous partners.
The recently opened Leave a Nest Museu
m displays materials and memorabilia that have been handed down over the years from the company beginnings as a student venture to the present, as well as items that represent Leave a Nest’s culture. It also displays the Leave a Nest timeline written by our partners at the 20th anniversary party held on June 14, 2022; this timeline is a compilation of the history of Leave a Nest from the year 2002 to the 20th anniversary, complemented by the a section about the future, where the company’s partners have freely written what they would like to do and achieve with Leave a Nest over the next four years, from 2023 to 2026.
And, as was declared during the event, Leave a Nest will implement all the new projects written in this timeline in collaboration with its partners during the next four years.
We invite you to visit the Leave a Nest Museum and discuss with us what you have achieved so far and what kind of future you would like to create, while thinking about past history and the times ahead.
