Empowering the Next Generation of TVET Technopreneurs: Leave a Nest Malaysia and UC TATI Successfully Conclude SUPEREKA Bootcamp 2026

Leave a Nest Malaysia, in collaboration with University College TATI (UC TATI), is proud to announce the successful conclusion of the SUPEREKA Bootcamp, held from 26th to 29th January 2026.
Operating under the philosophy “Build with Passion, Launch with Purpose”, this intensive four-day venture-building programme was designed to transform Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students into holistic Technopreneurs capable of solving deep-rooted issues within society and industry,.
Bridging the Gap: From Technical Skills to Innovation Mindset
The SUPEREKA Bootcamp addresses a critical gap in the current educational landscape. While TVET graduates possess strong technical capabilities, many face challenges in securing employment or visualizing how their skills can address broader societal needs. The bootcamp aimed to shift this perspective, transitioning participants from job-seekers to job-creators and innovators.
The curriculum was anchored in Leave a Nest’s proprietary QPMI (Question, Passion, Mission, Innovation) framework. Over the course of the programme, participants engaged in modules designed to help them:
- Discover their Passion: Moving beyond technical execution to identify the “burning passion” required to solve difficult problems.
- Navigate the Ecosystem: Learning to leverage support from government agencies, accelerators, and corporate partners to ensure startup survival,.
- Prototype with Purpose: Adopting strategies to build “systems” rather than just products, utilizing vertically sliced prototyping methods for faster validation.
Collaboration with Industry Players
The programme was supported by key industrial partners, including Hadid Group, Wariscan, Zull Design Autotronic, and Growth Asia. These partners provided invaluable industry insights, bridging the gap between academic theory and market reality.
Innovations for Society: Student Project Highlights
The bootcamp culminated in a pitching session where participants presented solutions to real-world problems using the frameworks learned. Notable projects included:
- POWERTRACK: An IoT-based power consumption monitoring system designed for university hostels to tackle energy waste through real-time visibility and behavioral change,.
- NutriWatt: A dual-purpose platform combining smart campus energy tracking with a healthy food pre-order system to promote student well-being and sustainability,.
- Vitalyn: A smart medicine intake monitoring system aimed at supporting the elderly and caregivers in ensuring medication adherence and safety.
- MZI Industri (Bahulu Tech): An automation innovation designed to support small-scale entrepreneurs in the traditional food industry by increasing production efficiency.
The Journey Continues
The completion of the bootcamp marks only the beginning of the SUPEREKA journey. The programme serves as the first phase of a comprehensive ecosystem support structure.
Moving forward, the teams will enter a 3-month Prototyping Phase (February–May 2026) supported by Supereka Manufacturing Partners, followed by the Incubation Program by Leave Nest in May. The journey will culminate in the SUPEREKA Demo Day at the end of May 2026, where teams will pitch their refined Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) to industrial experts and potential investors for commercialization support.
Leave a Nest Malaysia remains committed to its mission of “Advancing Science and Technology for Global Happiness” by nurturing the next generation of researchers and technopreneurs who will shape the future of Malaysia and beyond.
