Science Castle Series 2025: Connecting Future Researchers Across Asia and Beyond

Science Castle Series 2025: Connecting Future Researchers Across Asia and Beyond

The Science Castle, a science conference for junior and senior high school students, began in Japan in 2012 as a “gateway for aspiring researchers.” Over the years, it has evolved into a vibrant research community where over 1,000 passionate students and next-generation researchers from across Japan gather annually. This platform not only attracts students but also brings together researchers from universities, corporations, graduate schools, and startups, crossing generational and disciplinary boundaries. Participants engage in meaningful discussions—not only with student researchers but also with one another—exchanging ideas on how to contribute to a brighter future together. Through Science Castle, we aim to connect the next generation of researchers with society, fostering an environment where they can thrive and make a meaningful impact.

Since last year, this initiative has expanded beyond Japan into Southeast Asia. The inaugural Science Castle Asia conference, held in Malaysia in October 2023, brought together 400 participants, including next-generation researchers and educators from seven countries. The second edition this year saw remarkable growth, with 1,500 participants from nine countries sharing their passion for research.

Additionally, three outstanding teams from Southeast Asia who excelled at this year's Asia conference have been invited to the Science Castle Kansai-Osaka 2024 event on December 21. During the global session, these teams will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and engage with Japanese junior and senior high school researchers through their research.

Looking ahead, the Science Castle community will continue to expand, connecting next-generation researchers across Japan, Southeast Asia, and beyond. The vision is to create a global platform where young researchers from around the world can share their passion for research and inspire one another.

In 2025, Leave a Nest Group is proud to present the Science Castle Series 2025, which will be held across Japan and its subsidiaries in Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The series will begin in the Philippines, followed by Japan (Osaka),  Singapore, and Malaysia (Sarawak), culminating in the Asia-level conference.

Science Castle Asia will take place October 18-19, 2025, in Multimedia University (MMU) Cyberjaya, Malaysia, bringing together young researchers from across the region to showcase their work, exchange ideas, and foster collaboration. The grand finale will be the Science Castle World conference, scheduled for December 13-14, 2025, in Tokyo. This global event will accept presentations in both Japanese and English, welcoming young researchers from all over the world to participate, making it a truly international platform.

Science Castle is becoming the definitive gateway for the next generation of researchers.

We eagerly await the 2025 season as we embark on this exciting journey!
