Hi! I am a new nember of Leave a Nest Malaysia!

Hello!
I am Farha Husna Binti Ramli, and I am a new member of Leave a Nest Malaysia. With a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), I have built a distinguished career spanning research, industry, and policymaking. My research expertise lies in rubber synthesis, with a particular focus on developing biodegradable rubber-based batteries. This innovative area combines sustainability with advanced materials science, aiming to create environmentally friendly solutions for energy storage. My work addresses the growing need for sustainable materials while advancing the boundaries of rubber technology.I began my career as a Researcher at Top Glove. I was involved in developing methods for processing raw materials used in the rubber and glove manufacturing industries. My efforts were focused on ensuring consistent quality and efficiency in production—crucial in industries where product reliability and standards are paramount. I played a key role in refining processes to minimise waste, reduce costs, and maintain high-quality output. As industries moved towards automation and digitalisation, I was tasked with modernising manufacturing systems. I worked on integrating smart technologies to streamline processes, improve productivity, and enhance overall efficiency. My forward-looking approach helped bridge the gap between traditional practices and cutting-edge innovations. Beyond technical contributions, I also ventured into market research by analysing competitor performance and identifying trends to stay ahead in a competitive landscape. My work involved aligning innovations with market needs, ensuring solutions were both practical and impactful.
Later my transition into policymaking within the government sector at Academy of Sciences Malaysia marked a pivotal chapter in my journey, granting me invaluable insights into the global and national landscapes of science, technology, and innovation. Working with reputable figures in the country and stakeholders at all levels—from ministers to industry leaders—honed my ability to navigate complex ecosystems and foster collaboration. Recognising critical challenges such as the shortage of SMART and SHARP skills in the workforce and the pressing need to retain talent, I championed talent and education study with a strong focus on cultivating Humanity-Centric Talent. My advocacy extends beyond intellectual capital development to addressing environmental challenges. I have played a vital role in the governance pillar of the National Planetary Health Action Plan, embedding sustainable practices into national priorities. Aligned with Malaysia’s aspiration to become a high-income nation, I have been instrumental in driving the 10-10 MySTIE Framework, integrating ten science and technology drivers with ten socioeconomic sectors to shape a thriving, inclusive future.
My passion for exploring and unlocking potential is rooted in my personal journey. At a young age, I was diagnosed with squint and glaucoma in both eyes—a challenge that taught me the struggles of focusing, both physically and emotionally. Yet it also ignited a profound belief: with determination and courage, anything is possible. I realised that unlocking potential begins with exposure to opportunities and the bravery to take the first step.At 18, I demonstrated this belief in action by organising the Program Seminar Lonjakan Minda, a seminar designed to prepare students—particularly those in Selangor’s religious schools—for their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations. By holding the programme early in the year, students had ample time to build confidence and excel academically, proving how a strong foundation can change lives. My commitment to inclusivity deepened further at 20, when I became involved in promoting science education for students with disabilities and those from underprivileged backgrounds. These experiences solidified my conviction that education is not a privilege for the few but a universal right. I advocate that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, deserves the chance to discover their potential and thrive.
I understand that building a truly holistic ecosystem demands not just ideas and strategies but also bold action and collaboration. With passion and progress, I am shaping a future where every individual and stakeholder has the opportunity to flourish and contribute to the collective good by Advancing Science and Technology for Global Happiness.
